Bold portion, this is where I get confused. So I should be able to activate the game without using vpn, just like the regular EA games through Origin. At this point am literally not worried about the cost as long as I can get the disc and play and am a PC gamer.

I will be paying only the amount that is displayed in the shipping cart, right? Forgive me, have never got anything shipped via Amazon US.

From what I understand, if you want to play before 21st you need to use VPN as the original release for India was 21st. After that you should be able to activate and play the SP without VPN. MP could might need constant VPN as no one knows yet. I suggest that you ask someone who used a physical copy to confirm it if you're worried.

The amount you will pay will be what is displayed on the last step of checkout in your cart before you confirm payment.

I am angry at EA but then can we really blame them ? We all know how much this community groups cause utter nuisance here.

I just wish this moral police can just mind their own business or participate in swach bharat and clean India, rather than making LGBT related issues a big deal. If some one is gay they are gay, I just wish these people would get over it. Creating a fuss over the game, well I just wish people had something productive to do with their time.

this is section 377

it has no provision for depiction of such acts in media, only for actual committing of the act.

source http://www.lawyersco...ection-377.html

Common sense should tell you that "promoting" something that is unnatural/illegal by law has the potential to be dragged in the courtrooms. Additionally, the extremist groups can prove trouble for EA, just as it happened in case of Dante's Inferno.

there is no official ban by the govt on the game,EA is just pussyfooting, because they were previously dragged to court for some content by some group/something  in dante's inferno.

so this is their solution just pull the stuff off market.Rather than atleast try.

http://gadgets.ndtv....eres-why-622083

Why exactly they should "at least try", especially after having one bad experience? Are you volunteering to fund their legal expenses, in case this case goes to court? Or will you pussyfoot??

Consoles are also DRM free, buy disc from anywhere and game will work..Sell it anywhere without any issues...But on PC there are so many restriction now...It's ridiculous...

You are ignorant, and just blabbering without research. PS3 titles are region locked and content bought from European stores won't work in the US region, and vice versa. I myself have suffered due to this on more than one occasion.

So I read about this. Apparently India is banning DA:I because of an obscenity law?

To be fair, it is not officially banned by the government. EA have preemptively taken the game off the Indian market so they don't face severe controversy in the wake of India's re-implementation of anti-gay laws. I rather this than the government ban the game cos then possession of the game via import could become illegal.

Honestly speaking, I'm not thrilled by EA's decision but I understand it. The gaming market in India for legal purchases is pretty small and I understand that they don't want to go through legal courtroom drama or deal with conservative extremists if the game is to be released. It just probably isn't worth the effort or money for them. IMO blaming companies from pulling out of releasing content in India isn't entirely fair. The laws and culture in this regard isn't exactly welcoming in Indian society which is a shame.

So as of now, 3 ways exist for us to play the game.

1)Buying from Mex Origin Store through VPN, preloading without VPN

2)Buy Cd keys from International retailers and redeeming the code without VPN

3)Importing Physical copies via Amazon.com

Is the 1st method most reliable one as well as the cheapest one?

If you import a physical copy from Amazon.com, it will have its own product key, possibly region locked (or at least not applicable in India). But you will still need to activate it using Origin. This method may or may not work without VPN. But if using VPN, one has to be careful what region they choose while activating the game.

PS3 and PS4 games are NOT region locked, only DLC content is locked...If you own US copy then it will work with Indian account but DLC won't work..You have to buy DLC from US store....360 games are region locked but few selected tittles are not..First party games are region free on 360..

Both Nextgen consoles are region free now but DLC content is region locked...

You dunno ****..First that CBFC BS and now PS3 tittles are region locked...LOL....

That's a joke right?  Consoles have the some of the most restrictive DRM out there when it comes to digital downloads.

I was talking about Full Digital and Disc games...You don't have to activate games on consoles like PC by adding CD-key plus you can re-sell it anytime :P

Only Add-on/DLC content is region locked on consoles....

How many of you will wait till 21st and then buy it?

Since console disc games have also been pulled from local stores, it won't go much in the way of helping us when it comes to DAI. Also PSN price for DAI is really bloated or am I missing something?

You need a crash course in how to write better pal. You just froth thru your mouth and then backpedal when someone calls on your bullshit. "Oh..but..but I meant this.." HUh. If you knew DLC content is locked, write so specifically, instead of writing half-truths. Certainly I am not the only one who called on your ignorant post.

BTW, you still have not proved how CBFC, or any other entity under them, is NOT involved in censoring the content. I at least showed some proof, where's yours?? Given your penchant for being in constant confusion, nobody is gonna believe just coz you "say" things.

So, Should I go for Mexico Origin?

Seems the safest bet for now.

Yes, but part of the issue is also ensuring that you can import from the keep, and that needs an internet connection.

Consoles are definitely NOT DRM-free!

For instance, if you buy a console copy of a game, can you can make a backup copy of that disc and play using that? The answer is nope. That is the very definition of DRM, a system designed to stop you from making legal copies.

I think this forum is a great resource for those looking to make a decision about how / where to get Dragon Age: Inquision in India. Let's ensure it stays that way. This seems like a conversation that you can take to PM, and leave everyone else out of the confusion.

No point in correcting someone whose head is deep buried in his *** .

Actually, both of these creatures, Hawke and Razpo needs to be restricted from posting here. They just spread misinformation, spam with thousand contradictory questions without referring previous posts with clear cut answers and are responsible for sowing confusion in general. Pretty pathetic. This behavior is carried from that other "Indian gaming forum" where there is lack of moderation and swearing and spamming is apparently encouraged.

What i meant to say that on consoles you can play any game without worrying about region restriction or online activation....Go buy imported version of DAI and start playing..No internet connection required to activate the game on consoles....

Originally, MS was planning to add Always-Online DRM and region restriction in Xbox One to curb used games sales....But thanks to Sony this is not case the anymore....:P

So my preload is 99% done and I had decided to be all patient and stoic and wait till the 21st, but with all the game data sitting there, and with nothing but unnecessary restrictions blocking me from playing the game, I think I'm just going to activate early via VPN :-P

Let's see how it goes.

Of course you will ignore my posts because I ask the proof about how exactly CBFC is not involved in rating the content. But your puny brain doesn't work on proofs and logic. Nopes, you and your soul buddy Razpo just reveal is uttering horse***t.
