I just read that it was pulled from the shelves because of a gay sex scene.  The government.....

Yeah, because everything that goes wrong or against one's wishes can be blamed on the Government directly.
Sounds legit enough.

If you follow Kotaku, it seems that EA saw that Section 377 had been reinstated, looked at their ESRB rating and thought 'why bother?'. There is no specific government ban, but EA is taking the stance that given the government's proven attitude towards 'obscenity', it's best not to take a chance.

If the Subcontinental market was big enough, they would have taken the risk of legal costs and released anyway. They just aren't willing to risk it for a measly few hundred thousand dollars.

Now as long as I can play DA:I after having paid for it, I no longer care. We aren't going to solve India's issues with sex and sexuality by arguing on a board about games.

I'll be waiting till 22nd to see if the game still remains in library for you all. Hopefully, this turns out to be true. After getting the green signal, I will attack Mexico Origins. I don't care if Ill be banned for buying it through VPN. Since this has never happened before, giving it a try is a better option than sitting and doing nothing. Pray to the maker that everything works fine on 21-22nd.

From what I've read, Bioware has forced console controls on PC. Lot of people are having difficult time at adjusting with keyboard+mouse controls.

Then expect heavily armored cops at early morning, destroying your home door while you sleep and arresting you to protect "national security"

This is what usually happens here. oh wait, this is what usually happens in ENTIRE WORLD

That site is highly incorrect. It has predicted as won't run a lot of the recent games which I was able to run on med-high.

I agree that the results are not exactly accurate; but what you see there is that the scanner compares your specs with publishers' recommendation and provides you with the result.

The fact is - unless you "RUN" a game on your rig, no one else can predict accurately, what's gonna happen!

I've been a PC Gamer for over 20 years and I don't know what you mean by "console" controls, the setup on DA: Inquisition isn't that much different then other RPGs on PC.

Think that post is just based on the various complains people have already posted to this forum. People do tend to overreact on a fan forum and the real experience is almost always smoother than what the internet would have you believe, but it does get concerning if only going by the sheer number of complains I've read both here and on reddit. Worse come worse, I'll just plug in a controller on my PC and play it that way if kb+m absolutely refuse to work well even after hours of using it (I doubt it).

As a warning: Don't install games with Denuvo DRM on your SSDs

"Resource monitors for RAM and CPU consumption numbers, memory viewer for trying to figure out what makes it tick and track address issues, SSD analysis tools for those delicious dead blocks and data tracking. Wanna know average number of times parts of LotF exe code are fcked around between RAM and HDD in the span of one hour? 150000 copy/write iterations. That's about 10000 times more than usual. DRM constantly decrypts the game code into the memory and encrypts it back. This is the most bull**** usage of encryption software I've ever stumbled upon. And even though code chunks are quite small (couple of kilobytes per go at worst), they are all stored in one memory block. And playing the game for 4-8 hours(depends on SSD quality) means that you can say goodbye to that block." Source: http://www.rpgcodex.....5#post-3599880

So check your install folder for Origin games. You might want to switch over to your hard disk drive with spinning iron plates instead of sacrificing the life of your solid state drive too early. Denuvo is also used by "Lords of the Fallen" and FIFA 15 so far. I think a lot of games will follow. Actually, this would be a good time for crackers to circumvent this protection method since Denuvo will actively destroy hardware over time. I am waiting for the first complaints and lawsuits due to destroyed hardware caused by Denuvo. Sony should probably put some money on the side for those lawsuits. Source: http://www.rpgcodex.....5#post-3599880

For anyone that isn't following this thing, Denuvo is a DRM that encrypts and decrypts itself while you play the game so it's extremely difficult to crack. If these numbers are true, SSD users are fucked and it isn't doing anyone any favors with their normal hard drives.

New information has come out

From a russian forum: "The game's read\write operations per 40 minutes resulted in 30 GB of data processed. The number of operations done is insane. SSD's wear level hasn't changed though, however, the load is EXTREMELY high, so after, say, 100 hours of gameplay memory blocks will definitely start to wear down."

DON'T INSTALL DAI ON A SSD

You just have to put in a US based address, google that. Set your country as USA and you can access their store.

PS3 games are reigion free so Multiplayer will work and everything

Not only SSDs, the platter based conventional HDDs are also at risk, though to a lesser extent.

This is the information I found about Denuvo.

http://forum.bioware...our-hard-drive/

The old thread was closed with the note that we can discuss the Denuvo protection if we have some solid numbers. Well, here you go.

I played Inquisition for one hour, running it from a dedicated SSD with it being the only application to run on or access that drive. Here are the results (F9 is the important entry here).

Before starting the game:

qC6ILcJ.png

After one hour of gameplay:

btPGzUz.png

You can disregard BB - it's caused by the changes Intel made to the error correction of the Sandforce controller firmware.

Also, the raw read/write numbers of the DAI executable:

xqd0fbp.png

There was no other executable running beside it with significant read or write numbers. So overall DAI wrote about 70MB which are mostly if not all savegames (I save a lot  :P).

The 12GB of reading are simply game data since it obviously can't hold everything in the RAM (well, it could as a 64-bit application but that's not how engines usually work) and has to swap quite a bit.

Also, as for CPU and RAM usage - the game uses about 2.3GB RAM and slightly more than one core (i7 with HT active) which is perfectly fine for a game this size.

So there you have it. Denuvo does not fry your hard drive and neither does it have any noticeable impact on resource usage.

Might want to change the subject anyhow.  Threads that veer into discussing Denuvo tend to get locked.

Been playing DA:i for two days now..and have to say that the controls are a little fkd up compared to it's previous titles. You have to hold down the left Mouse Button constantly to attack, press Ctrl for pause and the tactical cam is a little hard to control with KB+M. Basically your Muscle memory from last two games wont work here. But i'm getting more comfortable as I keep playing. I imagine that it might be more comfortable with Controller....but I \don't like playing RPGs with controller. A keyboard and Mouse are more fun here.

I agree, I much prefer using a kb+m and I'm disappointed the controls are not polished for the PC. Can you not rebind the keys to be more in line with previous games? I heard about the lack of auto attack...that is concerning, but possibly something that might be patched I'm hoping.

Yeah I will if kb+m is as bad as people claim. But I prefer using controllers for action-adventure type games more than RPGs.

Hey.
Could someone tell me why I can't order from the Mex store.
As soon as I turn off Hola to enter the card details and click submit when it's done, it gives me error 9002 and it says that my payment provider can't be contacted and the game disappears from my cart.
But the card works with other sites.
Is it a problem with the card or something to do with Hola?

EA's stance on the issue. It is not their fault. India's government restricts them from relasing it without getting rid of content.
