I talked with E.A india. I asked them which specific law is preventing them from launching in india to which they replied, "I have checked the recent updates and found that  this is an recent update. All we can tell you for now is that as per the updates, the order has been canceled and if you have already paid, it will be refunded for them - if you have not already been charged, the order will simply be canceled and you will not be charged - as per the email content, this is related to local content laws - which is due to country regulations and not our company rules". In a way I am glad that Bioware doesn't censor it's content to appease to bigots but I am sad I cannot play the game. I still don't understand how they can still sell Dragon Age 1 and 2 and Mass Effect games. If this starts to become a trend I am a little bit worried about other games like the Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.

The reason i think why DA 1&2 aswell as ME are still being sold is because they were released before the law came into effect. just a speculation

( or because these old fucks in charge just want to torment us)

This is most likely due to the homosexual content specifically as many have said. Previous games were released when the anti-LGBT laws in India were officially relaxed (2009-2013). As you probably are aware, they're now back in full force since end of last year and is likely what is preventing EA from releasing it here. Although that begs the question why the previous games are not taken down now.

Anyway, I too am glad Bioware/EA will not pander to the bigots by playing it safe regarding content in their games. That is how it should be. Pity our country isn't as forward thinking.

I'm really sorry for those who are affected by this. It's bloody ridiculous if 'homosexual' contents are the reason behind this. I hope things will get sorted out very soon for you guys.

I know they relaxed those laws a while ago but they are not anymore so that should mean E.A shouldn't sell any new copies of those games also, right.

If that is possible, please let us know what to do in order to get the code when the game releases

If you don't mind waiting until Friday for the game, PM me and I'll buy it for you/anyone else who needs one. As someone who travels a lot, I've been in similar positions myself.

Yeah that is what I was also thinking. It's possible that it is not simply because of the inclusion of homosexual content, but how explicit it is. Someone else here mentioned that it is possible DAI's homosexual content is explicit enough for the censor authorities in India to take notice whereas it wasn't so in previous games

Yeah, that's my thinking as well. I think it is probably something else (though still related to India's overregulated state.)

This is really awful for you guys. I am really sorry. In Australia we have had so many games banned for various reasons over the years, but not for THAT reason if it is indeed the case. Having artistic expression censored for political reasons is the worst, and games like this are art.

I really hope you find a way around the problem and play it anyway - there is always a way. Good luck.

As far as i am aware using a VPN isn't illegal and won't get you banned. I'll notify you all if have any issues when the preload starts.

And don't really care for multiplayer.

Your preload hasn't started yet? What date is the client giving you for it to be available?

I used firefox with hola unblocker and set it to Mexico. opted to using my Credit card instead of paypal as i heard people had some issues buying with it. I'm not sure if online features would be restricted or not, but i'm not really interested in the MP side of DAI. It'd be a plus if MP works without any issues but i don't care either way. i'll let you guys know if i encounter any problems with it.

proof:http://i.imgur.com/1qLeqRC.png(i know my DL speed sucks lol)

Are you downloading via VPN? Which one are you using? (Hola only seems to work for browsers.)

And many thanks to both of you for clearing up a lot of the previous issues. Hopefully this will help any other people who are looking for help.

You can download without VPN. That's what i think because the game is available for pre-load on my origin account on the 17th. So, it should work.

Yeah I figured it wasn't the 'content' explanation. EA support is pretty generally clueless. They were telling someone else DA:I full access could be had permanently with the $5 EA Access subscription.

Are you on Indian Origin account?

Should i go ahead and purchase the game from GMG or G2A now? It will 100% work on Indian Origin account right?

I don't think there's any way to know without trying. Someone has to try it out and see if it works. We will need to wait until the game drops on the 21st to be absolutely sure.

Myfrnd already completed the pre-load on Xbox and ready to play on 21st...He said like Origin, EA can't remove the game from your console library once game is purchased it's yours forever.

Game still available on both Indian nd PSN store but only PC gamers are getting shafted again by EA

Yeah i'm on Indian origin account. But, i should tell you a friend living in the US bought the game for me earlier today. Regardless, the product keys from G2A and GMG should work when you redeem it. The payment has been completed and game is still showing on my Origin Account.

At the moment, i'm using a VPN and have started downloading already since i have a slow internet connection.

Using a VPN is very easy, you can check on youtube on how to. Anyway you don't need to. Buy the product key and redeem it on your Origin account. The game will pop up on you 'My Games' tab. The preload begins on 17th 10:30PM. Wait until then and you will be able to download it.

There was an article regarding PC game releases for EA in India and that we cannot buy the physical copy any more. There has been a price hike to bring the price closes to US

On asking a few retailers, they said that the PC version went digital and a physical copy is doubtful but you might get it for XBox and PS. They have asked us to check back after 21st which is the release date. EA's retailer in India Game4u is showing the price as 4399 and is allowing you to preorder as a digital download. It was the same for FIFA 15 too. The PC version was a digital download whereas the others were physical copies.

So in that case, I'm guessing its a distributor issue and not a government issue.

THe game is available on XBox and Playstation store

Further proof that it is selling on consoles only:
