If you access Origin without a VPN, it shows the European launch date for the game, which is 21st. It's only then that we can truly say whether the game works fully without a VPN.

I faced to problems syncing DA Keep data using a VPN (US origin) and am facing no problems running the game as long as it is set to US. Without the VPN it complains that the game hasn't launched yet, and will launch on 21st.

I haven't tried playing multiplayer, but at least the multiplayer option is available and opens the multiplayer mode configuration page. I remember someone posting on this forum a couple of pages back that multiplayer was working for them.

Just in case somebody wants to confirm(because I was looking for it a while back), I can confirm that cdkeys works. They gave me the product code immediately, for both single player and dlc. 

I'm currently pre-loading without VPN.

Did you close Origin in between? Or maybe even lose connectivity?

My progress went down from ~60% to 52% during the download because Windows decided to install updates and restart.

I don't think so. I saw I only had 1/2 hour to go and sat down to work on something else (not online). Then I noticed that the bar had receded and I checked the download queue and it was back to 78%. Frustrating, since I won't have electricity at home all day and I had hoped to finish the preload before then.

This is actually a common problem in origin. I experienced it too a couple of times.

Actually it wasn't the gay content. According an article in Gamespot, a EA spokesperson said this:

 

"The decision here is in relation to local obscenity laws, but not specific to same-gender romance," the spokesperson explained.

 

So the game is too explicit apparently. Or the gay content is too explicit.

 

But according to PCgamer, if this is true they missed "some serious sexy time somewhere" in the game.

That was the assumption floating around before we had a public statement on the matter. The article you have linked to seems to be published before the statement was made. According to EA it is not specific the same-sex romance as the person you are replying to you quoted. Here is the relevant Gamespot article.

We can still speculate that it was probably because of the same-sex romance, but there isn't much point in doing so, because even in that case one can find many games that have that kind of content.

You will have to order from Amazon, or another website that provides physical copies. Eventually you might find imported copies in India, but it might be a while. For example you can now find copies of Fallout 3 in some stores, but that game too wasn't released in India.

Ok guys my physical from Amazon just came in, I'll install it today when I get home. Just tell me this. Would you advise me to wait till 21 (ie midnight) to activate without VPN or should I activate now using VPN. Has anyone used a physical at all?

Because India doesn't understand basic human rights(broad generalization)  

really?? gay rights are a subject of debate in a number of nations ,India hasn't persecuted any gay right activists and i haven't heard of any such persecutions in this case.So if anything they still have a right to seek their rights here and go to courts.Much better than being imprisoned for life/life sentence for even speaking up and have no courts to go to.

So stop making baseless assumptions.

Read the "official " statement from EA ,there is no ban on this game,from the govt.
