Ah, my game hanged after I went to Options. Not sure what the issue is. Already updated my AMD driver (though not to the beta version they're specifically giving for DA:I) and now updating my Intel graphics driver. Let's see what happens.

Whoa dude, why do you even have your intel graphics enabled when you have a dedicated videocard? That makes absolutely no sense and will only cause you problems...that should be the first thing you disable in your BIOS when you build (and you should be building your own if you're gaming!) or buy your computer and you really should install the latest Catalyst beta drivers because it specifically improves Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Have been in the lands of Thedas for 4 hours; so far so good - in terms of game being running without a ban or deactivated (using tunneling, of course). Keep import worked flawlessly.
Multiplayer is without any hitch (with VPN set to Japan); joined a random lobby got mowed by the demons A word of warning - playing multiplayer through VPN is definitely not a wise thing to do; ping latency is quite high! It's probable you may get disconnected in the game. So I'll no more be playing MP through tunneling; will wait till 21st.
My POV - Frostbite 3 is good BUT there are some serious issues (2 game crashes in 4+ hours of playing) - I don't know what - either the game is not optimized for Frostbite 3 OR the game-engine isn't just suitable for RPGs of this stature. I preferred the fluidity of DA2 better than Inquisition.
If you ask about a very rudimentary and preliminary opinion, MAN, this game is huge, like as they said "monstrous" or gigantic. Being an avid Elder Scrolls enthusiast, it's very easy to get lost in the wilderness. (it seems like Witcher and Elder Scroll had a premature baby). ENJOY!

That's because I know nothing about computers. I did technically 'build' my PC, but only with input from the people at the store and a couple of my gaming friends. So, ah, no intel graphics then. So, why is game hanging?

Do a clean install of the new amd beta drivers. With amd you generally want their beta drivers. GO to control panel and uninstall your amd drivers and restart. Then install the new beta drivers. Also disable that intel card, you do not need it.

What I would like to know is will i be able to play the game if a friend of mine who lives in canada buys the game for me? And once i get the game how do i play it? is a VPN required each and every time I launch the game?

So after many hours of frustration I got the preload files elsewhere where resuming download was more reliable(*ahem*). How do I activate the game now?
Just to be clear, I'd rather not redownload the whole 24 GB of preload files from Origin.

I can play the game! Thanks! Cutscenes are lagging however, so I reduced the settings slightly. Let's see if that helps.

Damn this game is Huge.
30 hours into the game i haven't even reached 20 %..
Its not just one open world.... It has many open worlds...I use a controller so the combat is damn easy and really satifying
Getting around 40-50 fps. FPS will go down during cut scenes..personally it was better before the new nvidia driver update.

Once you start playing you will forget about the main story and start exploring trust me..
Many of the open areas are really big lets say about almost half or 3/4 as big as skyrim map.
and you get plenty of such huge ares to explore..
This game looks really good graphically and already has plenty of content in it i dont see why anyone would need to mod stuff..
