It's almost like Bioware took the complaint of recycled dungeons from DA2, and completely overcompensated in trying to make up for it. I'm actually glad DA2 was kinda shitty now, if it means we got Inquisition as a result.

Anyone kind enough to explain a non-tech guy how to get this game in India? 

 

Right now my only option is to get the game from my cousin when he comes here end of the year. I am not sure I can wait that long for the fear of game spoilers being everywhere by then. 

 

I went through the thread a bit and from what I understand, getting codes from Amazon and using it on Origin would work. Or using something called VPN to buy from Mexico. Where can I download/install VPN from?

VPN means a sort of virtual network that fools the website about your physical location. Install the hola add-on for Firefox or Chrome, then go to Origin store. In the add on (which will be on the add on bar in your browser) change the country to Mexico (as it is the cheapest. You can use any other country too).  There you can make your purchase via credit card etc. and start downloading. It'll cost you around Rs 2800

 

If this is too much hassle for you, order a physical copy from Amazon US which delivers to India easily. It'll cost you around Rs 6000.  For cheaper shipping you can also go for less ...  unsavory sources like playasia though I have never used that.

Will take help of office IT guys with the VPN. Even though Amazon seems the easier option, the Rs 2800 cost is very tempting. One good thing with the ban is I will probably get the game much cheaper than what Flipkart was selling it for.

Sit and wait till the end of the month when your braodband speed picks up again. or contact your broadband guy and see if he can raise the speed back though you might have to pay extra

If you happen to know someone who's already downloaded the game, or has a physical copy, you can copy the files from them and place them in the location where the game would be installed on your computer. Now when you try to install the game, it will verify the files and install it.

Yeah facial customization is really detailed, but its lacking in the body department. Wish there would have been types or a slider like Skyrims creation system.

 

There was something way back in development about there being four body types per race, two male, two female, I don't know if that was true but if it was it looks like it has been dropped

If it really comes to that I'm sure there's no harm pirating it, EA's not losing a sale and I doubt your government is strict on enforcing piracy laws. Nipples on the other hand

Bought the keys and redeemed it on Origin. Now I realize that was actually the easiest part. Now to wait for 24GBs to get downloaded (only 4 GB done so far but I can swear I saw it around 4.3 and then it went back to 3.something)

I was thinking of this......but my friend has files with extention .cas only, while in my folder there are extra files of extention .cas_stream.So i am not sure if i should overwrite these files.

That also happened to me! It said it was 80% and then came back to 73%. Then it reached 90~ and installed the game normally.

I'm sorry for all the guys who are missing out on the game but seriously, this news just makes me laugh because of its ridiculousness. XD

While you will get answers to all your questions in this forum, here is a quick summary for you all.

• The game in not banned in India. EA is simply not releasing it because they believe the game's content runs afoul of Indian obscenity laws. We are not entirely sure which ones, since games with similar levels of profanity, nudity and homosexual content have been released in India before. 
• Since this is not a ban, if you get the game key, or a physical copy though any method, you can play it in India. 

Now, for how you can get the game in India in the first place:

1. You can order a physical copy from Amazon, or another international retailer that sells a physical copy. Amazon will ship the bits of game on a piece of plastic that immediately loses any value once its contents are copied to your computer. If you like a physical copy though, this is your only way. It is also expensive you will need to pay shipping, and slow, since shipping takes time. This way you can also get the deluxe edition. 
2. You can buy from the official Origin website using VPN (it makes the store think you are browsing from another country) using a Mexican VPN will give you the best prices, since games are priced lower there. You can also buy the game using a VPN set to another country. This is the only other way of getting a deluxe edition copy.
3. You can order a digital key from stores that officially sell the game. These stories don't offer the game in India, so you will need to purchase the game using VPN. Here are some store that will sell you the game via VPN:

   • g2a.com (They claim keys will not work in India, but they should. Still if you are worried, try an official store)

If you are not sure what a VPN is, or how to use it, Google Hola. Their addon once installed on your browser will let you access websites locked to specific countries by pretending to be from there. You can also use it to make the above purchases. However, it seems you will need to turn off the VPN before making the actual payment so that it doesn't expect your card to be Mexican or American (whatever the case may be).

 

Also:

• Keys once purchased from any of these sources will work in India, in the Origin client without needing a VPN. 
• You will be able to import your saves from the Dragon Age Keep
• You will be able to play multiplayer
• You should also be able to make in-game purchases for multiplayer.
• You will (in all likelihood) not be able to purchase future DLC without using a VPN.
• If you don't have the bandwidth to download the game, you can take a copy from someone else if possible, and just place it in your Origin game install directory. Origin will detect that and directly install it instead of downloading it.

Ok. This is a queer request. For some reason Origin downloads to 3.9GB and then after a few hours, it is back to 3.61GB. Is this a known issue? This is one of the reasons I prefer a physical copy..

 

So the request.. I can send a 32GB USB drive if someone is willing to copy the origin files. I have the code but I cannot play.. unbelievable KLPD (not Kerala Police Dept )

And shall we all have a multi player session sometime ? Maybe weekend. Saturday Night or Sunday.

I've already played 3 multiplayer sessions, the hosts for all were french though for some reason. I have a level 8 Legionnaire Warrior only, but want to level up an Archer.

 

So, yes guys, if we plan to have a multiplayer anytime soon, let's arrange for it here on this thread. I'm game.
