Btw DAI is still available on Xbox India and PSN India store for purchase with pre-load option...They are only removing PC version

Local laws only for PC version..lol

Thats interesting, I wonder if anybody who pre-ordered on PS4 and Xbox one in India got their orders cancelled.

I dont think they can because from what I know and what Ina confirmed PSN India atleast is mapped to Europe....so maybe some law loopholes..

I know its not EA's fault but least they can do is tell us if psn will work or if imported copies from US/UK will work or will it be region locked?

You can atleast do that Bioware/EA just just tell us so that we can plan accordingly.... :(  :(  :(

If they don't want to release game here officially then it's fine but atleast allow us to play imported version...You are not breaking the law as long as you are not selling the game here officially.....

EA is actively trying to stop Indian gamers from playing DAI in every possible way by shutting off DAI servers here...

I guess it'll be released eventually. Fallout 3 was. But no idea when.

Games like Witcher and GTA V are full of extreme mature content but R* and CD red never canceled their games here..Dunno why EA is so scared? ..Indian Govt....don't give a **** about video games....lol

It may simply be some sort of legal challenge about something.

Courts don't care about release dates or people wanting something, they have processes to follow.

EA/BioWare won't breach legal process even if they have their lawyers on the case.

Honestly, the problem with Fallout 3 was potentially much more genuine. This just seems off, and that too without the courts saying anything about it. Why did they take pre-orders then to begin with?

People need to seriously start using their brains. The one redeeming quality about large corporations is that they DON'T discriminate against who they sell their products to, they will sell to anyone willing to pay regardless of race, sex, creed, or nationality. IF EA is pulling the game from India and sacrificing the profits they would have made there, its for a damn good reason, because big corporations don't throw away potential profits on a whim.

I don't know about that. ME3, DA:O and DAII all had same-sex romances. There was no fuss on their release and they are still available on Origin in India.

Perhaps it's because this time around DAI actually have a fully gay only character (Dorian). All other Bioware games were bisexual or something like that. I could be wrong.

So if that is the case, they just took action because Dorian being fully gay and not bisexual perhaps it is the part of that makes the gay laws take into effect or some stupid crap like that.

Someone really needs to purchase it on G2A and post results here. Or my night is gonna be sleepless.

Did you try using Hola Better Internet extension for chrome browser?

I imagine that would enable you to buy it directly from Origin.

Steve and Samantha were fully gay so it's not that.

I just Spoke with EA customer support and asked them

:I am aware that DAI has been removed from Indian origin store. However If i Purchase a DAI Global Key from any third party websites will i be able to activate it on Origin store..and will i be able to play the single player campaign, Multiplayer aside.?

The reply i got was:

Yes you will be able to activate and you will be able to play both single player as well as multiplayer modes.

Sounds rather bizarre that there's a console version for India being sold but not the PC.

Weird.
I got the opposite reply.

"Unfortunately since you require Origin to activate it and Origin is region specific you cannot play it."

EA/Origin customer support seems to be divided in the answers they give, some people report saying it'll work, others say it won't. we just have to sit tight till the 17th for confirmation from EA or from people like me who've bought the game using a VPN or from G2A etc.

In case anyone is wondering how i bought it: I used firefox with hola unblocker, set it to w/e country that isn't india and the game will show up and you can buy it from origin. I disabled VPN after buying the game to make sure i still had it in my account and it's still there. Preloading right now using a korean VPN.

The game releases on the 17th at 8:30pm so i'll let you guys know if the game works with/without VPN.

It can be: homosexuality laws in india are stricter now than when ME3 was released.

Wow. 1.25 billion people can't consume or enjoy media with gay content. Awesome progress for 2014.

Game still available on both Indian nd PSN store but only PC gamers are getting shafted again by EA

Gawd.. I hate defending them... but...

Not by EA.

AfaIk, PSN and XBox services used by India are the ones for Europe. Outside the reach of this (absurd) law.

The Origin service for India is based out of India, so it's India doing it to you, not EA.

VPN works, should you choose that route. There's plenty of user feedback to substantiate this alternative.

Circumventing unfortunate censorship in order to support the developer and enjoy a good game is a no brainer in this case.

I know that my good wishes aren't going to get anyone in India the ability to play on PC, but good luck. I hope you find workarounds and I hope you're able to share your success in getting to play. This absolutely sucks.
