The only "spoiler" thing I want to know is exactly how much of Hawke can we customize?  Are we only giving a couple presets of Hawke we can choose from or can we go in depth changing skin tone, hair, eyes, ect (like the Inquisitor's customization)

It's basically a full character customization screen, just like what you get for the Inquisitor. There's a few minor (and unspecified) differences Laidlaw spoke of on twitter, but an anonymous reviewer on reddit said it happened anywhere from 20 to 45 hours into your game and it's the same as customizing a human Inquisitor.

I'm not happy with Bioware either. But they don't have an in-game avatar I can let die to Templars for vengeance.

If they did that it wouldn't be long before they ended up banned as such blatant flaming/trolling/spamming wouldn't be tolerated by the staff here from what I know.

Considering there's seemingly been a new "I want the Warden to appear cos i hate Hawke" thread every week ill be really surprised if there isn't a load of threads/posts bragging about killing Hawke in Inquisition, & i pity anyone who dares make a Hawke fan thread once the games out since those type of people will flock to it

What i find disturbing is that the Hawke haters think that they are somehow getting at Bioware by yelling how much they hate him every chance they get , i got news for you people , Bioware doesnt care and neither do the rest of us. Kill your hawkes if you please , at the end of the day its your game :-)

I think most people say they'd kill their Hawke online but won't do it in the game unless they're doing a completely evil playthrough. Ultimately, it's someone they played with for a full game and like or dislike, someone they embodied for a bit. Now granted, I hated DA2 (still play it a little here and there but mostly now for Hawke's appearance). As much as I hated the game and what they did to a few characters I don't think I will kill Hawke in all of my playthroughs. Because as much as I hate that game and what it means about BioWare's "evolution" (along with ME3 which I hated more [oddly enough]) I still don't think I can kill someone who's a part of me every playthrough. Because that is ultimately what Hawke is and we all know this.

 

I think for as many people that say I'll kill Hawke on every playthrough I bet there will be a time when they leave him alive just for laughs. Just like those that chose Bhelen. And if not, they're not playing it for the story. They're metagaming for their own desires which is perfectly fine, but shows a truly extreme and judgmental mindset that I find revolting. After all, if you can't look to see other view points, than how can you truly respect and come to your own? All you see is what you think is right without challenge or flaws and without that your logic is nothing but flawed. And if that's all you are then what do your opinions or choices to the rest of the world state? That you're a person that no one should truly listen and take council to except when the broken clock is right twice a day.

 

So yeah, I'll keep him alive on a few playthroughs and I'll kill him on a few others. My canon one will keep him alive. My canon will also (if reports are true) keep Varric alive and not demon possessed. However, I may also leave Varric to die in a few playthroughs with the lyrium idol or have him be possessed. So... we'll see. After all, the Inquisitor doesn't know Varric like Hawke does and if it were Hawke in the same situation: I don't see him/her killing Varric. S/He may leave him or try to save him, but I don't ever see Hawke killing a possessed Varric. I do however see the Inquisitor doing so and I can live with that, but it's hard for me outside of story. Not in it.

I wonder how this will effect siding with a specific faction? I plan to side with the templars this time around but hawke was with the mages....can I not side with the templars and save Hawke in my scenario?

sorry, what do you mean by that? My brain is not at 100% right now XD are you saying it doesn't really affect faction choice, just these specific Templars that have Hawke

It appears IF there WAS a event where Hawke dies and the Inquisitor does not choose to save him then this song MAY play during that event as we slowly watch Hawke face death.

 

IF this event happens to be true or not I can't say but this is some serious depressing song....

I'm assuming that Hawke benefits the Inquisitor to some capacity more than his/her death could (save for the digital bloodlust), though I'm also assuming that some people may be making the worst possible DA2 world state to fit with all of this, though I'm not sure how much of it will make a difference.

Sorry to interrupt the somewhat disturbing murder fantasies, but the whole cliffhanger ending of Dragon Age 2 becomes really amusing if the resolution to Leliana's ominous line about it being no coincidence that the Warden and Hawke are both missing is that, actually, it was completely coincidental. That would be spamming, would it not? You only need to make 1, and only 1, topic about you getting personal pleasure for getting Hawke killed. After that move on as no one cares what you do in your world state and if you do insist on making back to back topics about a choice, when only 1 topic is needed, you may find yourself ending up in a lot of trouble when everyone gets tired of you spamming.

They typically aren't spamming it though while some users here imply they will spam it to a severe degree not only because it will bring them "Great" pleasure but so they can INTENTIONALLY troll/flame Hawke fans which I'm sure is against the rules to anger an entire fanbase.

 

They can make 1 topic about it and be done with it. Making back to back topics or spamming every topic that they killed Hawke will eventually land them in big trouble as that's begging for flame wars to happen.

sadly i find it out that some argument is true... most inquisitors won't have a reason to intentionally kill hawke, only Shayle and Anders are my excepcions to the rule: "Squish the mages (except "it", "it" is sweet, strong and handsome)" and "shoot lightings to the fools... specially the ones that left that imposter who took my name alive...").

So killing him intentionally would be metagaming or playing God... plus losing varric on all universes is not a choice (some of them have aggressive Hawke so killing him on those won't do anything). Unless i find a good excuse i won't be able to kill him/her in every universe possible... such a shame.

As mentioned above idk if siding with the Templars for me is possible while saving hawke (but it sounds like it will be) since she sided with the mages in DA2, if not then I might just have to kill her off and lose varric T_T. While I like hawke I'm not going to put her life above the entire mage vs. templar conflict, but if there is any way to do both (and not change my world state in the keep, which I won't do) I'm doing that
