There area reasonable railroads and unreasonable ones.I don't hate him. I simply find the notion absurd that Bioware not allowing you to do exactly what you intended Is absurd In itself... I should've cut Loghain's throat at my first meeting with him In the camp but alas, the game didn't allow me!
Muh gawd, such awful design.
Metagaming: Some railroads give the rider no reason to not hop on the train. Letting Loghain live before he's done something wrong, would be one such as that.
Faith in the DM: Some railroads give the rider reason to object, but reward them for their faith. Shepard working with Cerberus, but he's given the option to turn against the Illusive Man in the end.
Abuse of the player's faith: And some railroads give the rider plenty of reason to object, and then lead to the very disaster they saw forthcoming. Letting a villain like Petrice live after she tries to kill you to start a war. Or working for Merideth when you've been trying to take her down.
The last should be avoided at all cost.
