i hope that this means we get to kill the voiceless Warden. Oh the pleasure I would get out of re-creating some hawke haters wardens, and watching them killed, and then screencapping it.

****** for Tat, and all that. ;)

Are you for real? You can choose to save Hawke or let him/her die and save Stroud or Warden Alistair instead (assuming he take Stroud's place). Good grief you are not forced to kill Hawke here.

The Warden doesn't appear on screen in Inquisition, any bets that the people who seem to think the Warden should be the main character in the DA series will relish the choice to kill Hawke as revenge for the Warden's non appearance & then spam the forums with "LOL i gave Hawke what they deserved" threads & posts :?

And here I was, hoping that killing Hawke would lead to the worst possible ending...

It COULD lead to the worst ending since bioware said there is bad/demon wins ending and considering you can mess up on major questline's like the orlesian ball and companions can end up in a worse situation than before they met you depending on your choices. So you gotta make the right choices to strengthen the inquisition so you can stop the breach.

If you allow Hawke to die all the knowledge and support he/she would of bought with him/her to help in fighting the big bad is now gone and I expect Cassandra to be quite grouchy with the choice. So as bioware said lead them or fall.

Most people just want to see their old PC back as cameo appearance, and most people didn't want any old protagonists assuming the protagonist role in every DA game, they want new PC for each game. Yeah I am so going for that option with Varric in my party just to troll Hawke's fan.....just kidding. :P

I'm just tired of all the character bashing related to Hawke. He's a nice character, specially if you play him as a diplomatic and sarcastic character that cares for all his companions and his family.

My Hawke is a female.

I won't ever be able to kill her.

BUT if I had played as male, I'd surely slaughtered him.

I wonder if they would have ever killed Hawke if nobody had complained about him and his 8/10 DA2 game

I played aggresive Hawke and by the end I was friends with several companions and even Varric I am quite interested how bioware is going to handle aggresive Hawke being friends with Varric. :D

Anyway with me personally since we are dealing with the apocalypse I would not care about Hawke's personality but what help he/she can offer plus considering its Varric who recommends to go after Hawke since he/she was looking into the big bad.

That is entirely up to the player how you'll define Hawke's character so if you ask hundreds of people the answer will not always be the same. Since everyone had their own preferences. I had fun playing humorous/sarcastic male Hawke, and I never plan to kill him, but a lot of people here need to realize that you got the option to save Hawke. BioWare didn't force you to abandon Hawke.

I wouldn't really call sarcastic Hawke a nice person, more sociopathic then nice, although thats probably the reason the sarcastic personality is my favourite with how funny & inappropriate Hawke can be

Well that's if you pick the purple option all the time Hawke comes across as such. While if you pick aggressive all the time Hawke comes across as a psychopath and only diplomatic options, Hawke is well... a doormat

I never played as a diplomatic Hawke, just turned her into a overly nice goody two shoes IMO & it was really boring to me

I wonder what the consequences for saving Hawke will be.

I mean, if there isn't a catch then the choice to save or not save Hawke is going to be a easy pick for saving her in most people's case.

I don't think there will be any since Cassandra and Leliana even want to find Hawke. Hell I could imagine Cass was trying to recruit Hawke at the end of DA2 when she was talking with Varric. There is even a dialogue at the start of getting skyhold that Leliana mentions that Cassandra would wring Varric's neck if he knew where Hawke was all along since varric recommends that he will look up a certain "friend" to help with the big bad.

You can even go to Cass and she says the exact thing leliana just said, that Varric's "friend" would be needed in this situation if it is who she think it is. XD

Since Hawke would be able to bring some amount of stability to the chaos and support I think there could be only concequences for allowing Hawke to die considering the pre-tense that you are searching for Hawke because they are looking into the Big bad.

If your Hawke romanced Anders and he lived he should be the one to save Hawke.

If Isabela she could pull off a daring escape scene like in Pirates of the Carribean.

Basically, killing people can help too.

Well, it does kinda depend on how dedicated you are to that purple option. I generally shuffle between all three options as I feel appropriate, but just enough of the purple one so that the humorous personality is the predominant one. I rather like that DA doesn't have a real alignment, and you can shuffle it about as you wish when responding to different people and situations. But yeah, full on sarcastic Hawke is a total jerkass, and I admit, I love it XD

The one and only time I've ever really had an issue with sarcastic Hawke is in auto-banter in Mark of the Assassin, because there's one bit of dialogue between Hawke and Isabela that really bugs the hell out of me, when she's complaining about Gamlen being inappropriate.

That depends on some scenes. I balance between 33% kind and 66% diplomatic. 1% ruthless. I only avoid using the sarcastic option for some scenes like whenever someone loses something important, as my Hawke isn't a jerk to loss.

The thing I like about witty Hawke was that it was obvious that it was partially a coping mechanism. Sure, that type of Hawke is someone who is naturally sarcastic and witty. But it was also clear that sometimes it was just how Hawke dealt with stress and bad situations. After Hawke's mother dies in the conversation with Aveline makes that clear ("I am smiling, that should be enough for most people"). Witty Hawke wasn't just an ass, they were an ass who used humor to deflect and distract themselves from things that are making them very uncomfortable. When you think of it that way, witty Hawke might just be the most deep of all of the Hawke personalities.

Heh i used purple 100% and in that scene with the viscount was spot on with my Hawke's personality since she's a little awkward in sad situations and doesn't know what to say to calm people. But her intentions were with her heart in right place.... just her brains can't work right in these situations. :P

Okay. That is not happening to my Hawke. Well, maybe my male total barstard world state Hawke. Because I want to see all the content this game has to offer. But, my canon female Hawke? Nopenopenope.
