I don't think I have ever felt this excited about a video game. ME 3 came pretty close and probably the first time I was really looking forward to it, but the more I see about Inquisition the more I like it and the more the levels of hype and excitement are starting to bubble over the top of the pot. It really looks like BioWare has something special going on here.

Infamous: Second Son.
Dragon Age: Inquisition and I:SS were the two most anticipated games of the year. I felt a bit underwhelmed by SS so I hope that DA:I delivers.
If I was to look farther back than that, I can think of a lot of games that I was obsessed over before their launch. Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefront 2 come to mind immediately as well as Killzone and Kingdom Hearts II. I remember when Infamous 2 came out, I rushed home to play it and since I was less spoiled with the intro (unlike a bit of DA:I sadly, though I haven't fully seen the prologue) and everything in the game's starting scenes filled me with awe.
I'm looking forwards to Monday night for the game's midnight release here in the states.

Very easily, any other Bioware game. It's that simple. I love their games period. I'm one of the few that loved Origins, and DA2.
And yes, I even loved ME3.
Come at me, forum-bros.

I don't think I've ever been this genuinely excited this close to a game release before. Typically, previews and spoilers have dimmed my anticipation quite a bit at this point or made me anxious about what's going to happen and how all the bits I know about are going to play out. Despite knowing quite a few "twists" for DAI, I am every bit as excited as I was last week, and the week before, and all this summer. Plus, I just finished playing through Origins and DA2 (I did Legacy and MotA today), so I'm mentally and emotionally primed for new adventures in Thedas!
I think the only game that came close was Origins, which I pre-ordered but didn't get until a couple of days after release. I had never played a BW game before- I was just looking for a good RPG. However, reading peoples' initial reactions to the game made those days almost as unbearable as these past few have been.

God of war 3 , Mass effect 3 , final fantasy 8
wow, i remember working at gamestop when FF8 came out and we had a video showing those CG scenes of squall and rinoa at the dance together and the first CG fight intro on the boats invading that island...
even though you tend to want to kill yourself after watching something at work thats only 8 mins long, i soaked it up every time!!!
good call on that one Kinsz!!!

Mass Effect 3. I'm not quite as excited for this game though, which is strange as I typically prefer high fantasy to space opera, but ME was special. I think because by the time ME3 rolled around, I was already so invested in the characters that I'd spent so much time with and we'd been building to the Reaper War pretty much the whole series, that there was much anticipation from me.
I also think they did a better job with marketing ME3 and building excitement -the CG Femshep trailer gave me goose bumps.
