You should read Patrick Weekes "The Masked Empire" if you haven't already.

All three of these books take place after Dragon Age 2.  Asunder (Mage/Templar conflict) and Masked Empire (Orlais conflict)

The Last Flight has a bit that could be a bit important, but it primarily deals with the fourth blight.

One could say Asunder, The Masked Empire, and Last Flight are all tie-ins to DA:I. They all bridge the gap between DA2 and DAI, more or less.

There are 3, actually. Asunder, The Masked Empire, and Last Flight. I recommend you check out the wiki for a synopsis, but basically:

Asunder- introduces Cole, mage/Templar war stuff, and has a few returning characters from Origins.
The Masked Empire- deals with the Orlesian civil war and elven rebellion.

Last Flight- reveals some history about the Grey Wardens and hints at what might be going on with their Order in Inquisition.

Edit: taken out by a pack of ninjas

Don't know what you're talking about, we were never here.

I have friends that don't like to read books but want to know what happens in the DA novels so they will spend some days picking my brain for details and asking questions.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Bummer that there's no audiobook versions of these for me to listen to in the car.
