The reviews are out, the game is preloaded, and it's almost time to fire up the game and create your inquisitor.

Now after absorbing all the information on the game that's out there, it's time to make a decision....

Who will your first inquisitor be (gender, race, class, and weapon) and which romance option will you go after on your first playthrough?

For me, I'm going female because I always play female lesbian characters in Bioware games, at least the first time through...

I'm going with a female elf mage mainly because being an elf and a mage and being the savior of the world is just great cosmic irony...

I think I'll be romancing Sera first unless I find that I really hate the character, in which case I'll go for Josephine...

I will be a Female Human mage, I'm sticking with my theme of female human mages for my main canon. My romance will be Cullen, I've been waiting since Origins to romance that sucker lol.

My second with either be an elf mage or a qunari mage. I'm leaning pretty heavy on a qunari mage because I want to romance Iron Bull as one. But we shall see

Female human duel dagger assassin. I really don't like to define my characters by their romance options.

...but Josephine.

Human female Mage first because for once I can be a true black female and she will be in my head an ancestor to my Commander Shepherd lol  For love interests I'm going to say Cullen but that might change.  In Dragon Age 2 I said I was going to do Sebastian but Fenris won out every time no matter what.  I rather deal with Fenris's issues than Sebastian.

Female mage elf for the first playthrough, romancing Cullen because my canon warden is a f!Surana and for some reason i think it's metatextually hilarious if the poor dude has a very unfortunate type.

then either another elf, romancing Solas and class pending, or my primadonna, heartbreaker, homewrecker, fantastically femme mage Asala Adaar.

I even tried to make face guidelines for the character creator on the sims so I don't spend too long messing with the settings:

haha i have been thinking the exact same thing. How funny it is that Cullen falls for an elven mage, who in my case hated humans no less, only to fall in love with another elven mage who, in my case, is also going to hate humans. There is something bizzarely romantic about it, in a really weird twisted way. I had no plans to romance Cullen at all, but im tempted to do it. There is something about handsome blone men, and that voice hehe.

I'm still torn between having a male Qunari weapon and shield warrior that is romancing Josephine or a female Qunari weapon and shield warrior that is romancing Sera for my first character

Male Human KE - Staff (obviously)

Playing it straight so options are thin, it's either Jo or Cass.  I'm going for both of them until I see whether or not Cassandra losses any of that prickly demeanor after being romanced a bit.  If not, then I'll switch to Josephine.

i feel the same about the romantic thing!! although i am partly doing these little evil laughs on the expense of his misfortune. My Surana only disliked templars (which is also hilarious because she's Super Warden Married to Alistair by the end of the game), but i can't un-imagine him banging his head softly against a wall or something equally "why me"-ish. and varric passing out from laughing when he finds out, of course.

it's sims 3! i don't know if there's the CC for sims4 out yet

Dalish Necromancer.  I"m not targeting any particular NPC for romance in my first playthrough.  If it comes up and seems 'in character' then I'm not going to avoid it.

Subsequent playthoughs might see me working my way through the list of romancable characters, but that is just the obsessive completionist in me.

Male Trevelyan, Dual-Wielding Rogue, Assassin specialization. Dorian or Iron Bull as my romance. Will play my Quizzy as some charming, clever, diplomatic man. I'm pro-mages and will not tolerate bigotry in that role play. I will try to show myself polite and tolerant to people who sides against my choices in the game. Will probably won't get along with Cullen at first. My background as a Trevelyan will also cause some issues with my character's family.

The reviews are out, *snip*

Yeah, the same sort of professional reviews that come out with most large market products.  I'll wait until I see reviews from people that are not paid to do it, that actually care about the game and what they're doing in it.  Do I run the risk of review bombs for non gameplay reasons?  Yes.  But I view that as a much lower risk than the travesty that was the majority of professional reviews for DA2.

Human, male, sword & board warrior, hard to say if Cass or Josey; depends on how things play out. For the first play through at least.

Me personally I'd rather have an obscure review where someone was honest instead of following the like/hate bandwagon.

I.E: Mass Effect 3, Major Reviewers said it was great, Player reviewers hated it cause of the ending. I played it after reading a review that only had 4200 views and they said the entire game was great, the ending was confusing and not what they wanted but they looked past that.....and to me ME3 was one of the best games I've played in the last couple of years. Same with DA2, while it had it's problems like reused spider caves bandit caves mage hideouts, the overall game was great(except for the Tallis dlc, absolutly no point in that one O.o), I enjoyed it just as much as I did DA:O/A
