1st-M qunari 2h warrior, romance iron bull(although if that goes wrong I'll settle for a female option)

2nd-F elf mage, I'll try and bang everyone and create the biggest love triangle (or whatever shape all the romance options combined take)

First: Human mage male or female haven't decided yet but I have 56 hours to decide
All in all I have 14 playthroughs planned so we'll see in what order I'll play them in 4 Humans, 4 qunaris,4 elves and 2 dwarfs. But I'll start with human mage that much I know and I have 56 hours to decide so I'll think I'll make it in time ;d.
edit: Tbh I think I'll only play four but in a world where I might not have to be away from home 8 months a year that would be something I'd like to do but this game will last awhile for me I think.

My first choice is always to play on Casual, using a Male Human Warrior.

I'm making my first choices for a really weird reason. My brother and I will be playing the game in the same room at the same time for at least 3 days. We wanted as much "difference" between us so we could watch each other and see something different.

First playthrough

Female Qunari Mage - Knight Enchanter

Romance - Blackwall

Companions - Blackwall, Cole (Archer), Dorian

Male Dwarf - 2H Reaver

Romance - Cass or Josie

Companions - Varric, Cass, Solas

Female Elf - Archer

Romance - Iron Bull

Companions - Iron Bull, Cole or Sera (Daggers), Viv/Solas

I have eight playthroughs planned out, one for each romance, plus at least three to four more as different races and classes because variety. I'll probably never play all of them, but it's fun to plan them out just the same. Anyway, here's my first three.

- Female elven rift mage who romances Cullen. I can't help myself.

- Female qunari mage (thinking about rolling a necromancer or just perfecting my rift mage build. *shrug*) who romances Iron Bull.

- Female human dual-weild artificer who I was originally planning on romancing Josephine with, but switched to Blackwall once it was revealed he was a romance, for obvious reasons.

Male qunari necromancer (or maybe knight enchanter; that spirit blade is awesome) who romances Cass.

My next two playthroughs will probably be a male dwarf/elf 2H templar/reaver who romances Cass (I don't find Josie attractive) and a female human knight enchanter (or rift mage, if my qunari ends up going KE) who romances Cullen.

So... What's the reason Cullen is so popular as a romance choice?

He never left any good impression on me in both DAO and DA2.

No idea. In DAO he acted like a zealot jailer willing to kill innocents.

During the mage origin story, he has fairly positive views on mages, and a very cute crush on a female mage warden. his behavior during Broken Circle is understandable because he was under a lot of stress and trauma, and after that he went to blood mage-disneyland Kirkwall, where it is explicitly said Meredith used his PTSD to manipulate him and rewarded him for his extreme views. Dude wasn't allowed to heal during DA2, and it seems that in the three years between it and DAI he got a little more like he originally was during the Mage origin.

Long story short, he was a dork and his character arc is interesting, and i want to know how the writers handle him now that he's a more prominent character.

Elf female mage. I'm definitely going to go battle mage like viv. Romance? I still have no idea. Before the spoiler threads I was sure it'd be Cullen or Jo depending on who I felt meshed better with my quizzy, but after seeing the spoilers and more videos...I DON'T KNOW! I'm glad I went with an elf woman though I've got a lot of options that way.

Cullen is like those Templars you meet that kinda waffle back and forth on their loyalty to the cause, mixed in with those Templars that see crazy mage stuff happen and get solidified in their dedication....

..

mixed in with a hell of a lot of trauma and shock and later time to think about what happened. He wants order. He wants safety. He can't just condemn all mages. He knows he's been dumb in the past, and he's okay with trying to be thoughtful now. But how can he consider the interests of good mages while chaos flourishes and requires order to put of its fires? He's caught in things enough to finally decide that the Templar Order simply isn't enough by itself - a message that is expressed on the other side by Vivienne with the Mages.

Sounds straightforward in some ways, but like all the major characters, I'm sure Cullen will surprise us at least once.

I shall be using a male Qunari rift Mage, haven't decided on romance yet possibly Cass (if I use her stuck between her and black wall) or Jose. Going to be a little tough on the mages I think, they need a strong guiding hand.

Male dwarf warrior.

Axe and Shield.

Romancing whoever wants him. Not sure who is available to male dwarves.

If you include both genders as LIs, male dwarves have 4 options. Otherwise, 2.

Me personally I'd rather have an obscure review where someone was honest instead of following the like/hate bandwagon.

I.E: Mass Effect 3, Major Reviewers said it was great, Player reviewers hated it cause of the ending. I played it after reading a review that only had 4200 views and they said the entire game was great, the ending was confusing and not what they wanted but they looked past that.....and to me ME3 was one of the best games I've played in the last couple of years. Same with DA2, while it had it's problems like reused spider caves bandit caves mage hideouts, the overall game was great(except for the Tallis dlc, absolutly no point in that one O.o), I enjoyed it just as much as I did DA:O/A

Totally agree, I don't quite get the massive hatedom for either game. DA2 has its flaws, but I love the gameplay, characters, voiced Hawke, smaller story and Hawke/Amell family dynamics. Also agree about Mark of the Assassin >_<

So I'm going to remain optimistic for the game and experience it for myself.

I still haven't decided what race my character will be. I'll play a male to romance Dorian, most likely as a dual-wielding rogue.
