I complain about human things happening to a superhuman
You lost me there. Neither Hawke, The Warden, The Orlesian Warden or The Inquisitor are "superhuman".

My Hawke can heal himself by killing people.....as a non-blood mage. ![]()
Spoiler
....This is my Hawke in a nut shell.

I always thought those kind of powers were basically Hawke going, "Holy ****! I'm awesome!" And then he kind of forgets that he's been injured, to distracted by dudes exploding in front of him.
My Hawke can heal himself by killing people.....as a non-blood mage.
So can the Warden. What's your point?
not sure if he mentions it, however it effects te game in that;

Not as a mage unless they are a blood mage. And Life drain does not do that much damage.

Key word "not as a mage." Meaning I'm only referring to mages only.

A'ight.
I'm still not seeing your original point, though.

Gameplay/story segregation
Gameplay is not the same as story. Hawke and company don't really kill 200 bandits every time they step outside Kirkwall. After a trip or two you would never have to worry about bandits again if that were the case. Yes, Hawke did (potentially) defeat the Arishok. That doesn't mean there's no possible way he could ever be captured.
