What I'm worrying about this method is that even if you purchase DA:I through Mexican origin your account will still be considered as account that was created from India. So I'm sure getting game from there won't be an issue, but what comes after that? Does game stay in your library? Or is it going to disappear? I really hope this works for some of you guys but do be careful for this trick is not legally allowed.

Just buy the game from another store that sells the game-code.

Using a VPN to buy cheaper is against EA's Terms of Service. Posting information about this in an official EA/Bioware forum isn't a good idea.

True. But EA has been strangely quiet about it even though this method has been abused for a long time. Some people claimed that they got their account banned but I doubt that actaully happened.

Good way to promote piracy in India I guess.

And the worst part is it's not even 'gay agenda' as some people make out DAI to be. It includes equal representation for all, that's hardly what I'd call an 'agenda'. But then this is the Indian government we're talking about...this kinda thing shouldn't surprise me anymore.

Is a shame that inquisition is seen as "deserving" for a ban just cos it has some non straight characters, especially since the S/S relationships are completely optional

Yeah but you still need to login to origin to activate at which point it might reject the key due to location.

What if it is the same price? Like the Indian price for DAI was the same as the price in US, so would I be breaking the TOS if I buy it via VPN from US?

Even then it can be considered going against TOS. I suggest you to try G2A, GMG or other sites where you can legally purchase the keys and then later use a VPN when activating the key.

Funny.  Not.  When someone tells you that the law in your country sucks (I personally think that the 2nd Amendment should slide into history) so many people say "Get lost, don't tell us what to do..." but now people are saying that India is wrong.  Maybe Indians should sort out their system and if enough Indians want equal rights then they can vote for someone that will give it to them.

Why should it disappear? People have been doing this for over a year.

You could also use resellers like Green Man Gaming which is 100% legit.

Would that not amount to the same thing though? I'll still be using a VPN to activate the code. Also by doing that, I'm out of luck for future DLCs unless those too will get sold on other sites.

I don't know. It's unfortunate that DAI can't be purchased in India.

How about EA Gift Cards? AFAIK they can be purchased online from online shops and then you can add them to the Origin US and buy the game from there...

Yes but the other games are available in their country usually. People typically use VPN to grab the games at a cheaper price. In this case, it's not the price but the ban on the game when accessed from India. So potentially it might get blocked. It might not happen, but it's a valid concern.

If it was any other game, then fine. It will not disappear. But this is DAI. It is very much probable that it will disappear because the game is officially cancelled and has been taken down from Indian Origin Store.

I'm okay with doing that, importing a physical disk, grabbing a key from 3rd party or whatever it takes. My concern is the game will be pulled from the library, but some people have already reported success in pre-ordering using such means so I guess I'll wait and see.

For the Indian players, I hope at least that the army of Electronic Arts lawyers has set in motion.

Buying a game using VPN is different from activating it. Buying a game using VPN is illegal. But activating a legally bought key is not. And yes, you might miss DlCs. So any time you want to play the game, you have to activate the VPN and connect to the same store or region, say for example NA, to play the game. But hey all this is still speculation. we cannot confirm unless someone actually does all this.

It'll all come down to the same thing. The client will verify your location anyway. Even if you use VPN, one slip of VPN and it will disable the game. It would have worked if the game wasn't blocked here.

I know someone who was voting for some guy belonging to some christian party or something just because he was fighting against homosexuality. He also had nine kids and went each sunday to church.

My country has some serious corruption issues and many other than gay people. In some places there are villages where people still take a dump in a hole in the ground at the far end of the backyard.

Or how gay can't have kids because they turn out gay too. What about straight families that find out their progeny to be gay? That's just lame excuse and nonsensical

It's sickening what some people think would ruin society. Caring what homosexuals do is like gluing your ear to the wall and listening to your neighbors then complain they're being loud.

Exactly. Or we can go offline once we get the game. It might work.

So let's say I travel to the US next month, buy the game while logged in from there, come back to India and play it. Would that still be against the TOS as the original account was created in India? I just want to know if this TOS is account based.

I'd play it safe and get it from the US. If getting from the Mexican site is as rampant as it seems, future repercussions are likely.

They don't care. EA won't remove your games when you move to another country either.

A very good question. I have no idea. :) Try customer care. Sometimes they might help.

Half the reason I'm so depressed right now is I can't play multiplayer. I always wanted to play D&D, but nobody here in India plays it. I thought Inquisition would be a pleasant alternative. Just my luck....

So theoretically the games will stay in the library, even after switching off the VPN ?
