Well, anti-gays laws would mean the earlier dragon age and mass effect games need to be pulled down too right? Why have they not been pulled down in that case?

People are thinking it is not just homosexual content, but also how explicit it is in comparison to previous games. Unless EA release a statement we can't be 100% sure, but this is the info the customer service from EA provided to players who called/emailed them.

Something which is wrong is wrong, the law won't discriminate whether it is a small quantity or large.

So going by this logic, if the earlier games had lesser content like this, that in no way is a justification to continue selling those.

Which means, his intelligence equated to 0. Nothing more than that. IMO of course.

which one are you talking about?. The point is dogs are capable of forming deep emotional attachments- Btw the dog knew how to evade the cars, and when to let them pass. As for the one who protected his mate, i dont see how that equals zero intelligence. Intelligence doesnt have anything to do with my response which was directed at the individual who claimed that dogs could become murderous at the drop of a hat, and somehow were less capable than humans of compassion, when infact they are capable of just as much, if not far greater compassion than we are. Plenty of humans who are exceptionally intelligent are extremely brutal and psychotic, infact many of the most brutal of our species are also our most intellectually gifted. Intelligence has nothing to do with the topic of discussion here in regards to the dogs.

I've yet to see such a dog. From my experience dogs are much more prone to turning into mindless beasts than humans, if dogs can even think at all. Frankly I think with dogs it's really just all behavior and no real intelligence.

Anyways, only humans pass the Mordin test since only humans are capable of performing calculus.

It's an attempt by the humorously inclined to politely say "humans suck, I wish I were a 'nobler' animal'.

Which is an absurd idea, but but one said these people were rational.

They were talking about how smart and intelligent dogs are. I have no clue why did you bring compasion into this discussion, because compassion has ntohing to with intelligence.

For you reference this was what you replied to :

Actually many times I hate myself for being a human!
They say humans are smartest creatures on plant...and yet I see a dog with more brain in it's head then human.

Were they talking about compassion or about intelligence ?

I think it's too early to make a definite statement like this. The news from EA came literally today, it might take time for retailers to respond and update. Let's wait and see before assuming it's an agenda to single out the PC gamers.

it doesnt make any difference, because my response was a counter to their claim that dogs are mindless beasts, which is clearly wrong. They know how to take care of eachother and show compassion, there is nothing mindless about it. There is nothing mindless about protecting your mate, or wanting to save somebody. They are not as intellectually evolved as humans are, but that doesnt make them mindless beasts. There are about a gazillion studies and experiments that show how humans become mindless beasts at the drop of a hat. A very famous experiment involved two people in opposite rooms, one was informed they had to electrocute the other if they answered a question with a wrong answer. A majority of those pople were willing to deal out lethal dosages of electricity just because somebody else told them to. Humans who were otherwise nicey nicey, have been known to do all kinds of disgraceful things from murder to torture given the right, or actually wrong circumstances.

Speaking of social experiments another was made to try to explain what happens in prison where torture occurs. They recruited some volunteers and had one group roleplay as prison guards, while the others were prisoners. It didnt take long for the "guards" to turn brutal-

Interesting decision by India.

Well I don't know if interesting is the word I'd use to describe it...

But in that example of yours, the male dog wasn't protecting anyone. He was protecting a dead body, refusing to eat and atacking others.

He didn't had enough brain to understand that it is pointles and by refusing to eat, there would be two dead bodies soon. His death would be completely pointless. That's why I said he was not intelligent. Nothing more to it.

Talking to an EA Advisor right now. His responses:

"Compatible like there may be a mismatch in the Servers that will effect the in game purchasing and all."

"You will be able to play the game but there might be some in game issues as several other players did the same and noticed it."

So uh, nice response. But it makes little sense without some context to what he was answering.

All those who are here from India and are worried they cant play the game...relax take a deep breath and

1.check psn n xbox store they are available online

2. few sites are still selling them

3. you can always import it

4. third party sellers will have people bring it from abroad...if ur a gamer in India u surely have one...u know a frnd of a frnd bro who stays in us or uk n all

Worst case scenario

he didnt refuse to eat, for the sake of refusing, he didnt want to leave her. The point is if it is just behavior and nothing else, they wouldnt be able to do things that actually require thinking and have a purpose outside of their own survival, they can also learn commands and be loyal to humans. Yes he isnt intelligent enough to do many things, but thats not the point of my examples

I hope EA/Bioware provides further clarification on this "breach of local content laws". If players in the second biggest country on earth can't buy the game because of homophobia, that seems like it should be a major concern. If I were a dev, I'd be furious.

I wonder if Iron Bull character plays any part in it?   Cows/Bulls are a pretty revered creature in India.   There are probably a number of laws yet surrounding their depiction as well.

Just a thought that sprung to mind.   I have no evidence for or against that thought though.

1 thing you must understand is that each country has different perspectives of right and wrong.

While we may see as wrong or right another country may see it as right or wrong.

It all just a bunch of cultural standards stuff.

Anyone who hates gay people should neither use computers nor (if they do) live in the free Western world as they understand it, as both came about largely due to the actions of a gay man. The same one, infact.

Culture excuses nothing. A great many horrors are excused as 'culture', both now and in the past. That's why we have the UN's Declaration of Human Rights Bill.

Okay, they confirmed that the game will NOT be removed from your library wherever you buy it from. You may have some server issues when you play multiplayer, though. So, great news!

Who confirmed it? Source? So I'll add the info to OP then.

This really sucks for the Indian fans. Know that I'm furious for them and sick of this injustice. I know the cultures and politics are different everywhere in the world, but this is freedom of speech through arts and through choices and some people aren't allowed to make their own choices because a few higher ups decided that it was "illogical" for their citizen to play a video game which simulates some different sexualities. Really, this is disappointing and I really hope someone will help the Indian fans to catch on everything they're missing because of those silly bureaucrats. To my Indian brothers and sisters, I'm right here with you. :(
