Blackwalls convos don't match up at all with what we know about the fifth blight and the wardens.

Well, it's possible he just came across the border too late to be of any help. Riordan might not have been the only one to cross over eventually.

His evasive nature is also very questionable.

Which could also be attributed to a shaky past with the Wardens, as that concept art seems to show.

(and I much prefer it as it's far more interesting imo)

Meh...might be interesting, but I'd prefer an actual Warden.

That's not the only thing that is wrong.  First the wardens disappearing is a massive thing as seen in Last Flight, it's making all the head wardens scared yet Blackwall knows nothing despite being near the border?

He also is wrong that wardens don't really do anything after the blight except scout and recruit as we saw this proven false in DA:A, DA2 and Last Flight.

He's also apparently been wandering around alone for a long time now, probably without much contact with anyone else in his order. So it's not too implausible that he hasn't heard much.

We only heard of it in Last Flight, which is in 9:42. It evidently hasn't been going on for too long at this point.

Afraid of what? You still got your shot if you go after it.

However, he's the only that claims this. There is no other Warden (yet) to verify if what he claims is true. Of course, considering we can't know if what if he says is true (yet), we have to take him at his word. We'll know soon enough.

But if Josie takes an interest in your inquisitor then you wouldn't be getting in the way of anything. Just playing out a different possibility.

Am I "getting in the way" of Tali and Garrus if my Shepard starts a relationship either of them in ME2? No. That's ludicrous. There's zero indication they had any feelings for each other other than friendship. Now, if you don't romance either of them, then feelings begin to form. If you do, then they don't. It's the same thing in this instance.

That ruined the romances of Garrus and Tali for me for the same reasons. Especially since how Shepard ends up.

Though...now that I think of it, what about this old concept?

[pic]

Perhaps the truth of it is he just isn't a Warden anymore and left on bad terms, despite telling you that he's still one of them.

Hmmm.

That is literally my favorite Blackwall concept art and yeah there's no context here whatsoever~

i might cut him some slack if that true...

Ya Solas intent is good but he made a bad choice and become blind to what was really going on.

Though Solas is a interesting character and he does make very valid points about Spirts during early conversations but like most people he handled things the wrong way.

Well "how Shepard ends up" is variable too...

But fine, suit yourself.

Well, the review write-ups on him make it seem like the whole 'lone wolf' thing is actually a pretty integral part of his personality, so I'm willing to believe that much.

Not everyone likes it when unromanced companions romance each other. Personally, I've never cared for it. When I didn't romance Fenris I would not recruit Isabela because I disliked their flirting and sleeping together. On a playthrough where I didn't romance Garrus, poor Tali was dead. In my fantasy games (which I play for fun and escapism), I very much want the world to revolve around my PC because as I stated earlier in this thread, nothing like that can ever happen in real life and it's great fun for me to experience it in a fantasy setting.

Just throwing this out there as to one of the reasons some dislike companions romancing each other. ^_^

I don't doubt that, but I find it suspicious that he's alone. I would expect at least one or two other Grey Wardens with him. Moreover, his story of recruitment is odd because they have to go through the Joining to become Grey Wardens. He doesn't have a mage with him.

See, I can understand that. I can't understand swearing off a romance altogether just because they can possibly get together with someone else.

If it's a romance I don't care about, then I'm not bothered. For instance, if Zevran and Leliana were boinking if neither were romanced by the Warden, I could care less. But nobody better touch Alistair (which they couldn't, since I always romance him anyway). :P

Anyway, enough about that. Sorry for derailing the thread with romance chatter!
