Guys don't ever spend a bunch of money on these Super Deluxe Limited Editions of games because of all the trinkets and doodads that come with it. I can understand shelling out an extra $10 for limited editions that include a few nice things, mostly cosmetic items in the game itself, but over $100 is just nuts. I learned my lesson on this awhile ago when I preordered a $90 Limited Edition of Resident Evil 5. It included all kinds of nice things, but the things I wanted most was this statuette of Chris Redfield. When I finally got the thing, the "statuette" turned out to be this 5 inch piece of crap plastic, that was poorly detailed.

 

I understand we're fans and we like to geek out on these games by acquiring cool things that others players won't, but I think our money could be spent more wisely. Just my two cents.

Yep. The only physical items I'll shell out for in special editions like this are art books or similar, which can't possibly be messed up.

Wait with the judgement until there are pictures to prove it. I never ordered the CE so it doesn't effect me anyway.

I agree, for unless there are pictures I am very skeptical of the post.  Also, it doesn't impact me at all either, for I don't have any space or any desire to have all those physical items.

the quality of the tarot cards is what i wanna know about, since that was the main reason i got it. But if it's really as bad quality as the guy said then i might cancel my preorder and get the deluxe edition. I heard they were probably going to sell the cards on the bioware store anyway...

Well they were basically 90% of my reason for getting the edition, so i guess I won't attempt a last-minute pre-order cancel.

That sucks...it was so expensive too. 

It was a bit knick knacky, but I was hoping the stuff would then at least be good quality.  I was kind of looking forward to the Inquisitors badge, but it looks a little...cheap?  Oh well, we get some nice cards I guess and the outer casing for the chest looks nice at least.  I'll keep my preorder, I might look at it differently and it might look better when I look at it with my own eyes.

Bear in mind the photo quality is absolutely tragic. Look at the steel book, and see the resolution in that picture.

This. Books (art, guides, etc.), maps, maybe a physical copy of the soundtrack. You can't go wrong with that.

I'm not worried. Anyone anywhere can post that kind of stuff on the internet and claim to work for this and that. There were no pictures and the person reporting stayed anonymous (as far as I could see) so I see no reason to believe this. Also we have already gotten photos of what we'll be getting and based on those I'm perfectly happy If it turns out to be very low quality then you can always get a refund.

*headscratch* I don't get why anyone who ordered a bunch of knicknacks would be surprised at getting . . . knicknacks.  I'm kind of disappointed that the ink bottle doesn't actually have ink in it, though.

 

I'm sad for anyone who doesn't feel that they got their money's worth, though.  I got cured a long time ago of my desire for tchochkes--eventually they always wound up in the garbage or garage sale.  So I just don't buy them any more.

But otherwise I learned my lesson from Batman: Arkham Asylum. Oooh, comes with a batarang! Except it's a cheap hunk of plastic affixed to a bent stand that likes to fall over. Did I mention the dang thing comes scratched up like it was pulled behind a car?

What, you expected Batman to manufacture new batarangs for you? You get his used models.

I would have happily paid an extra £10 for the Tarot card deck only. The other items are so superfluous. Art is the only real thing of value unless the items are of ridiculous high quality.

On topic, I'll be a bit desappointed if it turns out the figures and such are of poor quality but since they are the items I had the most minor interest in, it's not a deal-breaker for me.

 

I'm still gonna dig the map and the tarot cards among other things.

All the collectors editions of games are the same. A steel-book case, some concept art and a figurine. All of which could be bought on eBay for cheap and yet people pay 100-150 bucks on it. I think it's absolutely stupid but hey, to each their own. It's not my money people are spending.

That being said, did purchase the digital deluxe version of inquisition because it was only 10 bucks extra for actual in game content.

I'm sure if you check eBay on the 18th you'll find them and won't have to spend an additional 50 bucks

I stopped buying computer games that came with "stuff" 20 years ago.   I am sure things haven't improved much if any since then.
