So I guess I should run you through my situation.

1.I preloaded DA:I and decided to play it this morning (I play on XBONE btw)

2. On startup I was asked to make an Origin account. I already have one, VulkanLives.

3. Despite me entering my own information it only responded with 'Someone has already taken that username' (wut)

4. Figuring I wouldn't be able to play unless I entered at least something I entered my gamertag, ValokasFyre (spaces removed because of Origin)

5. Now it seems that my DA:I is linked to this brand new account I made and not, infact, the account I've been cultivating for months.

6. I haven't seen any way to remove this associated Origin account.

7. I am aware that you can download the Origin client and use the friend tab to link a gamertag provided the email address is the same.

8. I downloaded Origin client for my Mac but there aren't any tabs whatsoever, let alone a friend tab.

9. I have also made attempts to track down this new account and simply recreate my choices from the Keep. This new account is nowhere to be found and can't be accessed because I need to enter an email and not a username. The problem is that the only email I use is the one used for my original Origin account. My Microsoft account email is the same as my Origin email, so I'm not sure why it doesn't automatically detect VulkanLives in favour of ValokasFyre.

10. Been waiting for customer service chat for the best part of 3 hours with no reply in sight. I could rant about Origin and EA but that's a post for another time.

Any help you guys have to offer would be greatly appreciated, I know it's not your mess to clean up (AND YOU SHOULD ALL BE GRATEFUL!).

Ahem, so yeah. Please save me.

If you load up your account in the keep, it'll tell you what the account is attached to. You may have never attached your origin to your Xbox profile.

Have you tried this out?

http://help.ea.com/e...ic-screen-name/

I remember linking my Xbox Live account to Origin a whole lot time ago.

You can check through Origin in Account and Privacy if your gamertag has been linked.

Cheers!

Yeah this is the first time I've ever needed to use Origin, on the Keep it says it's only attatched to the PC.

The friend tab doesn't appear in my Origin client, the one I downloaded. It's like the universe is working against me at every turn xD

Well I was going to say speak to EA customer service as they helped me get all my accounts sorted out. EA account management is a bit of a mess because they had 2 or 3 precursors to Origin, and now they are mixing in xbl and all the rest.

Honestly, you need to speak to someone there 3 hours is ...excessive though. Don't think I've ever waited more than 20 mins but they are in prelaunch for dai so probably swamped.

Hang in there brother, i dont think there is a short cut here.

I think it's also worth noting that you can't play Inquisition at this point.

I don't know how to proceed. The only feasible way would be to get tech support but the waiting time has gone from 50 minutes - 2 hours later - five minutes - three minutes later - 15 minutes - 2 minutes later - 25 minutes - 10 minutes later - 5 minutes etc etc.

Sorely disappointed.

Don't you have any option to link your gamertags to Origin when you get either on Origin on PC in Account and Privacy or getting in here https://account.orig...i/aboutme/indexand look under "Connected Accounts" (in both cases)?

In case there IS your Xbox Live gamertag, then you are set to go, in case there is another gamertag, you could unlink it and maybe re link?

Else EA Support is your friend right now.

No, it just says 'Connected Accounts - no connected accounts.' There isn't an option to add my gamertag. Unless I managed to get hold of someone's PC (provided it doesn't do what it's doing to me) I think I will be waiting several days before EA realise they have a tech support service.

It sounds like it has something to do with your xbox live profile not linked to the proper microsoft account that is attached to your desired Origin account. In truth, trying to link all three of these accounts is a giant pain in the ass. I've had issues with it myself. In the end I said "screw it" and made brand new accounts and started over.

I've used the same email for all of them though. When I got on DA:I this morning it asked me to make an Origin account, and kept telling me 'Someone already used this username' when I tried to enter my info. How do people like this run the companies? How could they not see that having more than 3 accounts just to access a game is completely bonkers?

If you have an Xbox One you could go there from Internet Explorer which is integrated in the console, it is a parallel browser like the desktop PC version, so you could check from Origin website that way.

Either way, hang onto EA Support.

Cheers!

I personally think it is asinine. You are not alone.

I had to make a hotmail account in order to create a Microsoft account, in order to set up an Xbox live account. Then I had to go into hotmail and manually change the address to my Gmail account that I actually use. (Seriously who the hell uses hotmail?) And then I had to create an origin account using that Gmail account which is actually the hotmail account which is linked to the Xbox live account. And if I had ANY questions for the DA Keep, I had to make a separate BSN account.

lol!!

Well, I just had to link my PSN to origin because I was on xbox before.. It was actually your topic that made me realize that my account wasn't linked in, and I couldn't figure out how to do it online either. I ended up opening a web browser through my PS4 and then went to the origin website, and right below where you would enter your log in information there was an icon for linking to PSN, or something to that effect. I was able to enter my information there and when I logged into Origin it showed my PSN account along side my Xbox account.

Maybe try going online through your Xbox and check if that option is available for linking to your Xbox live account?

866 543-5435 is EA's Customer service phone number I would try calling.  They are only open until 7pm pst apparently. No days of the week mentioned so I assume weekends are included.

That too doesn't surprise me. Microsoft is infamous for making things over complicated.
