I have the same problem - there should be a way to manually transfer the save file from the keep ![]()
After all is there a way to somehow import saves for offline players?

I have internet, but it's really unreliable and slow, and the game crashes (usually with a BSOD, no less) every time the internet does, so I don't like to use it. You can do all the plot decisions in the keep from a mobile device, like a cell phone, then go online for 20 minutes just to create your character. If you have a laptop, you can take it to somewhere with free internet access, like a library or MacDonald's, and go online to set up your new character. If you are playing on console, I suggest finding a friend who also plays or wants to. The rest of the game works better offline, but there's already so much stuff the game has to integrate from the keep to customize play, I doubt they even can package it in a way that doesn't crash your system. When I play online, the game crashes continuously every time the volume is high, like weekends and evenings on the US's east coast. Playing offline, the only time it really wigs out is if I forget to back out and clear the cache before I bog it down with the end of a plot quest and get all the cutscenes.
It's a PITA, but a minor one. Even the fastest player out there is going to take more than 50 hours to play the game if importing a world state is important to them, so the time you spend making the character is really only about 1% of the time spent playing, if that.

I have played these games since they first came out. However, I've not had Xbox Live in years. I don't have an internet connection at home. I only have my cell phone. Anyway, I don't think it's fair to me as a customer to not be able to load my game saves without Xbox Live. There should be SOME sort of method for "offline" players to be able to load their previous saves. I mean, I've already pre-ordered the game. Thats almost 70 bucks. And now you are telling me to continue to play my favorite franchise (the way it SHOULD be played by people who have played both previous games, and want to import those games,) I have to pay for Xbox Live on top of an internet connection? It's not fair, and it needs to be fixed.
You only need an internet connection. Gold is only needed if you want to play multiplayer.

Before launch a number of fans (including me) asked for a feature to download a file from the Vault which could be used to import
others assumed the Vault would work that way.
Now? Adding such a feature (or any other means to set up previous game details) post-launch would require a patch - which you need an internet connection for
