pretty self-explanatory. The bug is explained here.
http://www.mmorpg.co...load/355/page/2

you can see the odd shine here. At the 6 minute mark, it shows how off-putting it is, especially on dark hair.

You can also see this same bug in the low vs high graphic setting videos.

EDIT: some people are saying that this isn't a problem and that it's simply the system struggling to process the shaders. Here's a screenshot of how beards look.

The way that it is now with the clearly visible seams glowing brightly, I wouldn't want to chalk that up as 'low performance' without some kind of comment from a dev.

Oh my glob that looks awful.

The black looked the worst. But the other colours weren't all that much better.

I hope this is a bug or something that's gonna get patched.

Heh, this is the main thing that I am thankful my graphics card is strong enough for me to play with decent character graphics. No oil hair.

Has there been a screenshot of the in-game PC settings yet? I'd love to see how many options we get to set.

I haven't seen any of the settings, but looking at the in-game comparisons it looks like the major differences are shadow quality, particle effect density, texture resolution, dynamic lighting quality/rays (I'm assuming that's what's causing the shader bug on the hair) and anti-aliasing. Whether this is all on a single sliding scale is uncertian.

Please.

This is pretty much the only thing I'm upset about. I don't need the hair to look good. Just as bad as the PC version.

It is really, really weird. If possible, I hope they patch it.

I'm pretty sure that PC will have options but, yeah, for last-gen consoles; it's needed.

Yeah.. you're asking them to make a game look better on 9 year old hard ware.. just go current gen or buy a PC... that 360/ps3 aint going to last forever.

Except it's literally a bug. They didn't make the game look like that intentionally.

Do we have any PS3 footage? I assume it basically looks the same, but it'd be nice to get confirmation. (Probably looks worse, since PS3 is harder to code on =P)

Thank God! I'm going to be on a PS3 and I'm really happy with the graphics they've managed to deliver on the lower end devices besides this one thing.

I've read a couple other threads where it's been mentioned but I don't recall seeing that there were plans to patch it. You got a link?

A reviewer said it's a bug, but so far There isn't any news on a patch.

This actually looks much like i thought it would, dont expect it to be patched out unless BioWare specifically say so

Hairs on Destiny 360 look nigh exact same in regards to the shine, so i dont believe it is a bug tbh

Are you so sure about that? The differences I've noticed with lower quality vs high quality presets is in shader complexity, which is what this looks very much like. You can't expect last gen consoles to be able to look as good as current gen/a decent pc.

No ****. I don't want it to look as good. I just want the hair to not look like it had a bucket of grease dumped on it.

your only solution then will probably be to upgrade

Right. I'll pay 400 bucks just to get hair that looks slightly less shitty.

I'll pass, thanks.

The too-shiny lips bother me more. And the blocky blood spatter. I want those fixed more than the hair.

In the article I linked, they stated that it was a bug. I'd assume that the same fix they'd have to remove the mirror effect from low settings on PC would work on consoles too.

Getting real tired of people suggesting that those of us with last-gen consoles just upgrade. Not all of us have the money to do that. Dragon's Dogma hair on 360, with a lower-end engine, still managed to look nice. I'm glad a patch will be coming.

What patch? The person who said there's one coming has yet to post a source.
