Wow, we're faced with the same choice we face at the start of DAII. Mage, Rogue or Warrior. Still human, though.
keep in mind this is just the naming strcuture of the file. It could be anything. I am reserving judgement till I see what unfolds IG.

Watch the devs just played around with the naming to mess with us, hehe.
Well, I guess it's true:
Welp.
A mage divine is...strange. Interesting, but strange.
I disagree, the world absolutely needs to have mages return to power and have a major cultural redraw of the world.....what better way to do that than by having a mage divine?
Imperial Divine is always a mage. I'm not sure if that's what the world needs.

Well, you kinda have to believe in the Maker and Andraste. That's basically just the humans.
no..just no...

I think a lot of BSNers are in for a lot of continued shocks, if this actually surprises people.
The Chantry as we knew it is over. We're dealing with its power vacuum and remnants and masses of believers, but the way it is going to work is open to drastic changes and new decrees.
"Change is coming to the world. Some fear change and will fight it with every fibre of their being. But sometimes, change is what they need most. Sometimes, change is what sets them free."
Andrastans need to be set free. And so do many fans, it would seem.
Anything can happen now. And it should. Thedas is a cesspool compared to what it may one day become.
This all being said, from what I understand so far, I'd support Vivienne or Cassandra. Leliana should just explore the world and its wonders some more, like I thought she should in DAO (and I guess she sorta gets to, in her own way, anyway).
I'm still not sure that we'll actually be able to pick the Divine, but I definitely think it is possible. Southern Thedas is being intentionally shook up by Bioware, and prepared for whatever next steps there will be of the larger story.
Yet from all that has been said, we can disgree with the chantry on a few things...kinda...maybe and that counts as 'opposing them' I thought opposing something meant fighting against it, but obviously not.

Try Google Chrome. Tumblr media sometimes can be capricious to browsers.

the tumblr layout is bugged, you have to click a little bit above the play button for it to play
anyway, what it is is an audio recording of morrigan saying that the chantry shocked everyone by appointing viv to the throne
anyway, i think i'll chose viv. leliana keeps saying she's tired and wants to live a semi normal life and with her crisis of faith i feel like she would be more unhappy than happy, plus if the warden romanced her she says she cant wait for all this to end so she can go off and be with them.
plus the ramifications of viv actually being flemmeth is too fun to pass up

That could honestly just be them talking about who the new Divine is. Honestly, since this game doesn't have retroactive dlc, and none of them are actually a part of the Chantry, how could they become Divine?
Well if its anything like the Catholic church then that won't matter technically speaking. Technically you only need to be a catholic to be elected pope, Being A Cardinal or Bishop isn't required to obtain the throne of St Peter. Ofc in practice its really a different story, Though with a powerful order like The Inquisition backing a candidate that might change things, Inquisition support could possibly mean Support of the Orlesian and Ferelden monarchies since you potentially secured ones crown and saved both their asses from the breach.
I'll probably end up picking Cassandra for the role if this is indeed the case. I think she would fit the role the best, especially after the events she is bound to witness and be a part of in Inquisition.
I'm not even considering Vivienne, unless her story/character arc sways me otherwise. And as for Leliana... Well.. She seems to be questioning her faith over the course of Inquisition, and, I just feel she wouldn't fit the role (even though she was my main romance in Origins). Leliana seems like a wanderer now, and not someone to settle down and be something large and so stationary as a Divine (Pope).
What? I'm surprised people aren't more excited by this possibility. What better way to make the Chantry more pro mage than to have a mage as the new Divine. Where are the pro-Tevinter fans when you need them? Go team Vivienne.
Vivienne is A Pro-Circle mage and member of the Loyalist fraternity. She makes it clear she was happy with the status quo. I doubt making her Divine would make the chantry more Pro-Mage lol
If they put already such ridiculous candidates they could at least put lambert there.
Well...
Major DAI Spoilers below
I just hope there is a fourth option or something since quite frankly I find each choice utterly ridiculous
I really hope there are other options for the role of the Divine then just them. I hate the "Pick a Follower to lose" choices.

I guess that's true. For a second I assumed BioWare would pick a competent, experienced, and more aged person as the leader of the Chantry. I got ahead of myself there.
Remember, they draw the names out of a hat according to Sebastian.
"Vivienne, let you forever be recalled in history as.."
*Entitler draws name from hat*
"Her Holiness, Divine Hortense X."
*Vivenne's epic 'Nooo!' is heard as far away as Kirkwall*

Let's see...
Leliana is tired of the religious BS and she is my Warden's waifu.
Vivienne is speculated to be Flemeth in disguise who is in Orlais to watch Morrigan and she is very ambitious and power hungry.
Cassandra is someone who does not wish to have famous titles, she wants to fight and to restore the Seekers of Truth.
Most likely I will pick Vivienne. She is the one from what we have seen so far is not very questioning of faith. Cassandra is a fighter, Leliana is a skeptical agnostic in DAI. As for Vivienne being Flemeth in disguise, who cares ? She has not caused any direct harm to any of my playable characters, she helped them.
So Vivienne it is.
