This is my unexpected reaction to seeing this game.

The fact that Cell says "Go-Haan" instead of Go-han,  other than that I did enjoy the game, and it could be challenging but it was more fun than i care to remember at the moment, i mean it must have been i had countless hours logged into it, mostly because i loved how mid fight battle transformations worked, many of the previous DBZ games i played would either not have base forms (snes era) or you had to select powered up versions of the character separately (psone era)

Alright yo, I got the deets.

 

Apparently they are a few races to choose from.

-Earthling,Saiyan,buu,freiza and namekian.

-The character can choose who to be mentored by to unlock their special moves.

-Character can customize their character movesets based on meele,energy and accessories.

-apparently a lot of clothing to choose from.

-Character can equip transformations

 

• Earthling (Male, Female) (Base, Kaioken, X3 Kaioken, X20 Kaioken)
• Saiyan (Male, Female) (Base, Kaioken, X3 Kaioken, X20 Kaioken, Super Saiyan/Super Saiyan 2/Super Vegeta/Super Vegeta 2)^[18][19][8]

I'll definitely check it out. I do wonder wether the races are gonna get balanced out.

 

Because playing a Saiyan is obviously gonna be more easy than an earthling.

Saiyan has a lower health than the rest I think,namekians have health regeneration

If they now confirm Super Saiyan 4 as an option, I'm sold.

the game is gonna come out at February 17th 2015. which is my birthday month. i'll be 26 by 25th.

I was looking at some character creation videos, outside of the recorder being very bland in terms of his coloring choices. I'd say the few cosmetic choices were kind of disappointing. I really wanted more options in terms of designing the face/hair options. There are only so many hairstyles. Other than that i dont have any real complaints. 

 

There are 10 hair options for saiyans and I presume humans.

There are 5 eye options for the females, 9 for guys. (saiyans and presumably humans)

I think this has to do with the popularity of a certain OC, 

I don't recall who created this, but since I first saw it the template for it has grown considerably. 

This was the first concept of the above that I remember ever seeing, whoever the original artist was did it in a very close to DB manner, so much so that many fans just took to it, it was very popular apparently, despite having no bases in the actual story.

 

http://epe-tohri.deviantart.com/ Apparently this was the guy who originally came up with the above design, I wouldn't be surprised if DAMP (is that the proper spelling?) borrowed his idea and implemented it because "hey why not, fans like it." though why they'd do it for only this race and not say Freeza's race who i don't recall ever mentioning being a self-replicating race like the Nameks, I'll never understand. Maybe they didn't want naked female freeza's flying around lol.

Aww come on, every fandom wants to connect with their original obsession in some way I guess. I remember as a kid drawing my own DB characters too, thankfully it ended in my teens but it's kind of endearing i think. 

 

Looking at some videos the game seems to have a lot of RPG mechanics (Can't go wrong there.)

 

Clothing and Armor provide statistical benefits (nothing to major though, but they can help build toward a certain character arch type.)

 

Z Souls are invisible situational boosters that can factor into a match and you can collect and equip (one at a time)

 

There are up to at least 100 player levels (you level up in this game though what counts as exp is unknown to me at this time.) I assume you can decide what stats you wish to improve, in the video I saw a Health, Attack, Blast, Ki and Stamina stat. Kind of like a Hexagon like graph for your stats. (No speed stat? odd)

So i was playing it last night, before the steam official release time, and it was fine, im still trying to get a lot of the controls down, (i just can seem to remember how to throw with the gamepad) any who, the game plays pretty smooth i just don't like the fact that judging the distance between melee attacks can lead to wild/wide swings, especially when you have allies ganging up on one person, then it becomes a cluster **** of "Am I hitting him?" this frustration becomes even more so when you have super mode activated and your stamina is slowly or quickly depleting and you can't get close enough to hit the bastard.

 

customization is actually more extensive than what they showed in the trailer/demo videos on youtube, a lot more hair styles than i thought i saw, costumes can be bought or won, but you only get pieces in both cases (you can buy all the pieces to most peoples costumes when they become available), they aren't all about cosmetics though, they offer varyring amounts of bonuses or penalties to stats.

 

thats really it, I'm playing on PC, i have a female saiyan right now named Lettus (I don't know if names are exclusive to particular people so i might be one of 100 different Lettus's) hope to see you all there whenever they get the serves up.

 

 

Also unlike last night the servers seem really unstable right now, in single mode, after every match i seem to get disconnected from the server.
