It's mostly Dragonball GT content.

I don't understand why GT is so widely hated.

I think Yamcha's "Yes, I did it!" at the end of the Cell saga means he's happy he survived an arc for once.

He survived the Frieza saga.

 

But that's really only because he never appeared in that saga.

It was a shameless cash grab by Toei Animation that paid no attention to continuity, or logic. Leaving a poor product riddled with plot holes and absence of sense.

I'm glad the new movies exist to quietly brush GT under the rug tbh. I understand people like SSJ4. But the design was always a little to excessive for my tastes.

 

Also the next movie is coming out in next month in Japan.

And will be get a western release in the Summer, in English.

 

If the trailers are any indication the movie is going to be action packed.

I think the point of SSJG was it was supposed to be simplistic. Which is ultimately why I like it.

The first thing I liked about Battle of the Gods is how immediately it essentially retconned the start of GT by making Pilaf and his crew children. So now they can't be old XD

This is the guy that turned Bardock into a slightly more violent Jor-El. Because the Superman parallels weren't strong enough apparently.

 

I have no clue why the Special couldn't have been adapted into the Manga, just with adding an extra scene or two with Gine, and *gag* Jaco the Patrolman.

Dunno I kinda like the gold plating.

I like how Roshi does something too.

 

The gold plating is fine (meh), it's more that it's basically his fourth form recolored when they should've went with a Cooler-ish design since that's what the fifth form look like

Cells theme is great.

But Only A Chilling Elegy is really good, totally the best thing to come out of Kai.

 

I guess. Still, I like the purpleish red.

There's fan art out there that does what you suggested, and added markings to Gokus body.

But I'm too lazy to go find it.

The only reason why I watched GT was because of SSJ4.

I do like some of the premises of the villains (baby) and that but I can barely remember any of it. Unlike Dragonball Z where I can remember the 259 episode wait until earth was destroyed, Frieza blowing up Krillin into space dust, Gohan finally snapping and beating Cell like you beat eggs and Ultimate Gohan... though when Earth was destroyed kinda crushed me and not in the good way.

The western Dragon Ball fandom is so soaked in the anime that most of us have internalized filler as canon without even knowing it.

 

So the experience of Toriyama just walking right past things like the Bardock Special without skipping a beat I imagine is jarring to people who never really took in the manga as the primary ride.
