Well as someone who did complete the Warden plot line you CAN recruit the Wardens to fight for the Inquisition. Alistair/Loghain/Stroud go to tell the leadership in the Anderfels about what happened. Hope that's the last you see of the Warden you went with though.
Why didn't the Inquisition recruit Alistair (if still a Grey Warden)?

I would love the opportunity to visit Alistair. Even tho my character here is not the one that supposed to be married to him end of DA .. But I adored his character and think its hard now to even consider any of these characters to romance, even tho my new character is no relation to my old lol ..
Funny thing.. if you stand near the war room outside there are 2 ladies who talk about Ironbull .. its um .. ooo my. Funny.
