Please please make it so either you can choose some kind of Round Robin style loot. Or a Need before greed. or just everyone gets random loot when someone opens the chest.

I was playing 3 hours before I even knew there was loot in the chests cus I was never the one to open the boxes.

Everyone gets random loot when someone opens the chest... at least that's what it's supposed to be as Bioware said so.

Well I got zero loot until I opened a chest.

The majority of the time, the chests only contain gold.  You just happened to open the chest that contained an item.  When one person gets an item, everyone does (though the item itself is randomized, so it probably wont be the same item)

Everybody gets loot in this game.

Yeah judging from the Twitch DAMP streams, if one person earns loot from opening a chest, then everyone does as well. So no need to worry on that front :)

Also Coldflame, you are not a cute koala, but an angry drop bear who preys on unsuspecting tourists :P

My only concern will be the party's desire to move forward vs. my desire to loot every corner of a room like a crazy loot-rat. I have a feeling, I will need to cut back on this to keep from getting kicked. I'm sure impatient tanks would start to wonder where the Mage and their Barrier went, while I'm three rooms back still checking behind pillars for pots to smash...

Unfortunately, Fallout 3 trained me to be this way...

The game will actually teleport you to the other players if you fall too far behind. This is intended to prevent players from hanging back and letting others do the work for them. It might of course prevent you from looting everything, so communication is key. After all, everyone wants to get gold and items (which are shared of course).

Good to know. I think this "snap-to-party" even happened during this last Twitch stream. I just know I will have to rein in this single-player-born tendency or it appears the game will do it for me...

See, I'd rather take my time and have fun in the DAMP matches, rather than race through them with others pressuring you to keep up. I'm a loot everything type of guy too.

Thank goodness for the Glorious Casuals. We have our own pace...... and it's casual.

I don't think it would be too bad.  After all, everyone will be wanting that gold you're finding.

Well, people better keep a jar of their own urine next to their beds at night because they might need it...

As others have stated.  One person loots and everybody gets it. No loot-whoring in DAMP.  Now what will suck is the fact that if you do pick up a loot card instead of gold you don't all get the same item or even the same quality of item. The Only guarantee is that you all get an item.  So somebody can get a blue while the rest get commons.

Also as stated the majority of it is gold.  And if a party can't slow down a little to get all that precious gold at least to start to get more gear, more potions, and whatever else.  At least for a bit a lot of us are going to be gold hunting and some of us will be doing it for a long time.

Or you could always group with some of the many others, myself included, who will be just like you and have trouble not taking the time to double-check for everything to open.

When a player loots something all other players get the same thing.   So if I loot 11 gold then everyone gets 11 gold so you will see times where there are multiple loot messages above your head if multiple people loot at the same time.     If a player loots an item everyone gets a randomized item card/chest (whatever) that is rolled individually at the end of the match.   So one guy can get a rare item while you get a common one etc.

I have found in my brief 6 hours of mainly mp play that the majority of the players just loot chests looking for items and skip gold loot (urns, etc).   Basically they are speed runing through the game trying to get as far as possible to get the xp rewards at the expense of maximizing the gold.   This is a mistake in my opinion since you need gold to get chests to salvage crap to craft and ultimately unlock characters.

zultor I would say that they've played things like ME3MP where you didn't get money drops and aren't realizing yet that the majority of your money comes out of the breakables that will give you money.  You might mention that too them.

I feel like in the beginning, loot will be more important that EXP, so people will want to take their time. After all people want new gear and classes.

I think every room we cleared all the people looked around and got some loot, while the tank keep lookout. Only added an extra 30 sec in each room.
