Can you choose the background story. I think it's kinda neat to see each class and race get a unique story but I'd love to play a Circle Mage Elf.
I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but making sure.

Unfortunately, the only way you can be a Circle Mage is by being a human mage.
At the same time, the only way you can be an Elven mage is to become a Dalish Keeper, as well.
