I don't think they could have chosen a worse cast.

Not TOO bad. Gerard Butler is a great pic for Shepard. I'm not a Vin Diesel fan though. Keith David could play Anderson!

That... That was awful!
And if we don't see Tali's face, Liz Sroka could just as well play Tali

I at least liked the Eliza Dushku suggestion, mostly because I loved Dollhouse.
Gerard Butler as Shepard though...why? He's a man and has muscles?

Gerald who?
Don't tell me that's another of those Steven Seagal guys...
Vin Diesel as Saren? No, no, no.
I like Vin Diesel... but not as Saren. He would earlier suit Shepard's role... if we keep in tune with the macho tough-guy soldier theme.

everyone seems to forget that the PERFECT mass effect movie should be written and directed by Bioware themselves (if possible or at least supervised) and produced by BLUR studios in CG.....Voiceacted by the original ME cast

Vin Diesel as Saren, I support this, That said, I support a CGI movie keeping the same voice actors even more.

I don't support a movie at all. A 2 hour movie just isn't a sufficient format to tell a tale like Mass Effect's.
A TV series could work though.

Absolutely CGI! With the same voice cast.
BioWare should pen it, and oversee, but find a good director and production staff. Remember when Chris Roberts tried his hand at movie making. Only including Mark Hamil in the cast could have made the Wind Commander movie worse.

If it's a movie the entire damn movie better be CGI.. I don't see ANY actors able to fill the shoes.

Wow...BW would be stupid to take this article's advice. o.O
If they do a movie (and it should be CGI) and use any of the trilogy characters, surely the characters' own voice actors would be better suited. And as far Garrus goes, only Brandon Keener could voice him; he IS Garrus.

I don't mind the first 3, seeing as the 3rd guy did really well in Avatar, Terminator: Salvation (for what a diaster that was) and looks like he will do good in the remake of Clash of The Titans.

Making a Mass Effect movie which focuses on Shepard's story at all is ultimately pointless, since it goes against everything Bioware is trying to do with the series, which is emphasizing CHOICE. My Shepard isn't Gerard Butler, she isn't even a man, and watching something so different from my own personal experience just isn't appealing to me. Why watch someone else's interpretation of Mass Effect when I can just go back and play ME1. I agree that the ME universe should branch out into other mediums, but choose someone else's story, it worked with the novels and the comic, so why not with a movie?
