Even though some of those people I haven't heard of, I still think that's a pretty whack list. I'll gladly jump on the CG bandwagon with original voice cast. It would be so much win.

NO NO NO Gerard Butler as shep?

Bale would be your man for the job, he already looked like him in Terminator Salvation.

i think youre absolutely right. i referred to shepard as 'John Connor' the whole way through my last playthrough as i used the default male. plus, it would be pretty cool to hear him slip into his "batman" voice every so often.

Making a Mass Effect movie which focuses on Shepard's story at all is ultimately pointless, since it goes against everything Bioware is trying to do with the series, which is emphasizing CHOICE. My Shepard isn't Gerard Butler, she isn't even a man, and watching something so different from my own personal experience just isn't appealing to me. Why watch someone else's interpretation of Mass Effect when I can just go back and play ME1. I agree that the ME universe should branch out into other mediums, but choose someone else's story, it worked with the novels and the comic, so why not with a movie?

you forget that Bioware has ab underlying "canon" story that is also used if you do not import a save file......aside for the sex (of course) Shhepard is a mostly renegade soldier that kills the Rachni, the council and Kaiden/Liara depending on who is sexually compatible.....

just saying,,,,,

Gerard Butler?! no - and anyway, I think the suggestion by one fellow who said Wentworth Miller (aka "the Prison Break guy" as I believe he put it) might be a better choice at least.

I disagree with Bale. He's like every movie's "generic, raspy-voiced hero." I vote for the guy who plays King Henry in The Tudors. And no, I don't care how gay I am for watching that show.

Sam Worthington would be a better Shepard than Gerard Butler in my opinion... Garrus and Tali's actors are a little shocking to me, I wonder how they will pull off costumes and the Garrus' face...

No, there isn't a canon storyline. Even if you choose not to import your shep there's a Q&A session early in the game which lets you establish what happened in ME1, like in KOTOR 2

Eliza wouldn't be a bad fit for Ash.

Seems like most of these were chosen based on appearance and not the actors ability to fit the role however.

garrus, tali, wrex and saren should be done by their respective voice actors and just have other people doing motion capture

Certainly it's only a wannabee cast directed by who? I've neither the time, nor inclination, to read about some interweb "armchair casting guru".

If a ME movie was made, it would most definitely have to made CGI, to avoid the inevitable whiners who think that their casting direction, would be so much more enjoyable.

As for voiceovers, just stick with who they already employ.

actually no, it was confirmed by the people who are already playing the game that that is NOT the case,  most of the events in ME1 are already established you can only change minor things...if you do not believe me search the forums for it

Mark Vanderloo would have to take acting classes and buff up a little to get a good ME movie.

A TV series could work though.

Not only this, but it should be based on the universe in general, rather than try to hamfist Shepard into it.

A TV series would actually be really cool with the proper budget and team behind it.

That cast list is garbage.

Posted Image Huh. Well that's interesting, though as you say there still isn't a "canon" gender for Shepard, and if they're going to make a ME1 movie they'll have to nail that down. If they do that, then I'm almost 99% sure that Shep will be male, which would throw me right out of the experience.

Vin Deisel would be better as Wrex if he was to play anything.

Mass Effect should never be a movie though. Think how much time you spent, not running around shooting, pausing and using tactics, but just listening to the story of ME1. Now think about ME2 and then ME3.

How would you ever get something this good into a 3 hour movie without making a total muck up of it?

Keep games and movie tie ins seperated. Let movie makers come up with their own IP for once.
