A TV series could work though.

Not only this, but it should be based on the universe in general, rather than try to hamfist Shepard into it.

A TV series would actually be really cool with the proper budget and team behind it.

She's a no-nonsense Asari with a dark past and a vendetta against the Shadow Broker, he's a wise-cracking trigger-happy Hanar who's just trying to get by and enjoy life.
In an unlikely team up, they are partnered and now work together in C-sec, taking down corruption and crime in the Citadel.

Posted Image Huh. Well that's interesting, though as you say there still isn't a "canon" gender for Shepard, and if they're going to make a ME1 movie they'll have to nail that down. If they do that, then I'm almost 99% sure that Shep will be male, which would throw me right out of the experience.

sorry Jello....I mean they could have been lying but..why? there are many who said specifically that

in any event, Bioware has an iconic shepard....that is like one step removed of canon

but why do you think your experience would be ruined? that is Bioware's story in Mass Effect...it is different from yours....from mine..from everyone else's. the only difference is that THEIR story is becoming a movie, yours is not.

Vin Deisel would be better as Wrex if he was to play anything.

Mass Effect should never be a movie though. Think how much time you spent, not running around shooting, pausing and using tactics, but just listening to the story of ME1. Now think about ME2 and then ME3.

How would you ever get something this good into a 3 hour movie without making a total muck up of it?

Keep games and movie tie ins seperated. Let movie makers come up with their own IP for once.

Video game to Movie adaptations are almost always either complete crap or mediocre, just look at Bloodrayne.
It works the other way too. Anyone try to play that Avatar game? Posted Image

They should get the voice actresses for Liara and Tali to play their live action roles. Tali's face would be hidden and Liara's face was scanned from the voice actress anyway.

Aside from Vin Diesel I thought the choices were interesting, I wouldn't say no to them, but I'd be interested in seeing how they handled the roles. Diesel was just a horrible choice, though I have to admit I can't really think of anyone who should play as Saren. Only one that pops into mind is Liam Nelson.

I vote that Blasto be played by Christopher Walken.

I would tell you to look at the director for the video game to movie adaptions. Uwe Boll likes to murder video games.

The reverse however, sometimes is not true! The trick is that the adaption of the other medium must not be a timed release with another product. I.E. look at Batman: Arkem Asylem and Ghostbusters. Both based on different mediums, not crap in the slightist.

Sam Worthington would be a better Shepard than Gerard Butler in my opinion... Garrus and Tali's actors are a little shocking to me, I wonder how they will pull off costumes and the Garrus' face...

This!

Sam Worthington is an excellent actor.
He could pull of a Shepard, he is fairly big, rugged but yet still refined.
Butler has too much accent and his speach can almost become slurry.

The rest of the cast the site put up was pathetic.
How the hell could he choose vin as the villain, Saren is a smart character and has more weight to him, fast and the furious Saren doesn't really work for me.

not sure how i would feel about those actors in the film seems like too much star power to me.

in anycase i think that if there were a film made that it should follow the same route as the novels and NOT include shepard or the main game cast in any way.

it would also be a plus in the sense that if the movie sucks, we can say that it does not effect any of the characters or events from the xbox 360 trilogy

mila jovavich shouldnt be let anywhere near the mass effect universe she tends to bring her no talent husband with her most the time and we dont want the mass effect universe perverted with his touch of death(he wrote and directed all 3 resident evil movies along with a bunch of other utter garbage movies), i agree on vin fitting wrex more than saren though.

I suppose saying that my experience would be ruined was a tad melodramatic, but I tend to get a bit touchy about whether there is a "canon" gender for mass effect or not. I buy Bioware games because I am a woman and I want to be able to play as a woman, which is an option a vast majority of videogames do not offer. Bioware are ahead of the curve in this respect, and I am pathetically grateful. I just want to be able to feel that my choice to play as a female is valid, and not just something tacked on to the "actual" story.

and you CAN play as a woman, as it is  Bioware is giving you three romances, Garrus, Thane and Jacob that were as much "asked for" (in Garrus' case) as those offered to a man...and just as in-depth...more to the point even the look of Thane was basically decided by US (well..you....the women...I hate Thane) in the forums...(it is said so in one of the Art of Videogames vid I believe) . Bioware's effort in allowing a valid choice in playing as a woman  is obvious since either playthroughs, a woman or a man, will offer the same amount of content and depth. If they choose a man as an iconic Shepard or as the protagonist of the movie does the effort they put in the game itself (for you as a woman to have the same concent quality as a guy) diminish? I believe not.
