I always tell myself that I'll have my character walk whenever she's in a city or village so that the game will feel more realistic, but I usually crack within a minute and end up sprinting. Anybody else do the same?
Anybody going to try walking everywhere?

I always find the walking speed in 99% of games everywhere is absurdly slow, so...no, probably not.

Depends on the walking speed and how much in a rush I am at times. Most likely, I'll end up sprinting, since, as Snook said, most games' walking speeds are too slow.

I'm going to try not using mounts, because I don't like that your party disappears and the party banter stops when you are mounted. But walking, nah.

Are you kidding? This game has MOUNTS. Gonna be riding those babies everywhere. Every. Where.

I would not have the patience for that.
When games have parts where you are forced to walk, I get so frustrated. I'm just like, gogogogogo, lets get moving people! ![]()
So nah, I wouldn't be doing it by choice.

Definitely, I'm just hoping it really feels like an open world sandbox environment, at least some enemies and random encounters as long as you keep playing the game.
It wouldn't be as fun if you clear an area like DA2 and it suddenly becomes boring because no more enemies spawn anymore.

I miiiiight.. but I'll probably end up doing the usual. Which is walking in the wrong direction for too long, realize what I'm doing, and abruptly doing a 180 and sprinting the other way. I find this happens often in real life as well.

Including into the bedroom during sex scenes.

If i'm playing a female character i walk usually to see the obligatory OTT hip swing that all female third person character models have in games nowadays mainly cos it's funny (yet strangely arousing) unless of course it's Bayonetta behind in which I wonder why her hips don't snap when she walks seriously make her walk you'll think Commander Jane shepard looks normal in comparison.

I might try it. I did so in Skyrim and it really added to my experience because it would take me several says to travel between cities instead of sprinting across the country in one evening.

I walked all over Morrowind, then Cyrodiil, then Skyrim. So .... yes. I do not see why I wont be walking and enjoying the sceneries now. ![]()

I did that in DAO ,DA2 and the mass effect games. You get used to it after while, just keep at it and it doesn't really seem that slow after a while.Yes it does add to realism.
I'm going to solo most of the time and use a mount to add realism without sacrificing speed.

I'll be running and jumping most places from about 30mins in and will use mounts sometimes, but I don't want to miss out on banter.

Beautiful vista in the Hinterlands? Walk and enjoy it.
Demons, demons everywhere? Put your backs into it, guys. Full tilt into the fray time.

I sprint (or at least stride briskly) to most places in real life. I'll do it in the game as well.
But I probably won't take mounts very often. That sweet, sweet party banter cocaine must remain available for inhalation!

I'll probably walk inside buildings and the like, but cities and outside? Sprinting. No mounts, because party banter.

I want to use mounts but I am curious about the lack of party banter when mounted, will it skip entire conversations that are triggered by a certain area or will it still initiate that particular conversation regardless? I noticed also while there is a ton of banter probably more than origins or DA2 combined overall, but the world is so massive that theres lots of times where its just quiet for a long period of time so I think the mounts will help fill the gap of silence.

Iron Bull, Cassandra and Blackwall walked into a bar.
Their banter was priceless.

Oh, I thought this was about mounts.
No, I run cuz walking's so slow.
Also, doubt I'll use the mounts much.

No. The world seems to be big enough that I can comfortably move at the default speed and be happy to explore everything. I don't need to slow myself down even more.

I'll probably walk at least during my first visit to an area and also in any area where encounters are likely whether I have been there already or not. Not that excited about the mounts - will have to see how they work but don't like the idea of missing banter.
