Most of you probably already know you get attribute points for promoting characters in this game.

+1 Willpower for Mage class.

+1 Dex for Rogues

+1 Str for Warriors

I was wanting to know how many times we can do this before our stats "max"  Can we get the same amount of ALL attributes or if we only play as say....a mage can use up all of our free attribute points and get all willpower and not be able to get the dex and str bonuses?

I am anal about these sort of things...I need to know this before I play DAMP lol.

I am curious about this as well. Even if Willpower, Constitution, and Cunning are not strictly damage-additive stats, it seems that allowing an infinite amount of +1 to any of them would eventually allow for some very OP characters. I imagine there will be a cap of some sort. Otherwise, I am going to promote the heck out of Warriors and Mages to get as much life and cooldown reduction as possible to make my Elven Mages nigh-heroic.

Looking at you Cilian...

Well there is a bar for each of the attributes on the UI. I would say that once that bar is full you've reached the maximum gain for that stat. There has been nothing to suggest that we only have a certain amount of points to allocate so to speak.

You do realize that even if it's something like 50 in each stat the amount of time it's going to take you to promote that many of a single class right?  by that point if we're lucky or things go right they'll probably have released a new difficulty and/or faction for us to fight against.

From what I was seeing in the Twitch feeds. Cooldowns were actually quickly becoming a strategy thing for players with just the few limited abilities so you may never really reach a point where cooldown reduction really isn't affecting how you deal with each encounter.  Probably just lets you use the more powerful moves more often in that cooldown rotation.

I would be willing to take turns pulling people through whatever gold or plat is in this game.  Plus if it offers any kind of xp cards like ME3 has then you could tear through levels quickly.

I understand what you're saying though and agree.  Even if it is a slow process I want to do it in the best way possible so my ending stats compliment my playstyle.

Dunno in ME3 MP i could do GI lvl 1 gold whit my team - finish it and be lvl 12-14 then do one plat whit said GI and be lvl 19-20. So i dont think 50 resets are hard to get to. That been said im talking about rank 7 Black Widow that carried me at all times.

On another hand i do hope they limit the amount of stats we can get by resets or the min/maxer in me will never stop reseting chars ....

Silent. Go watch the Twitch feeds of the Dev's playing.  They are good. They are using tactics most of the time and they are still getting their butts kicked in the normal difficulty.  Wiping because they pull a group wrong or something.   Your talking about leveling a character after you and probably a lot of the rest of us have maxed out weapons or intimate knowledge of most of our unlocked characters to have tricks dev's don't that your pulling that off.  It's not going to work so easily this time around.  Your not going to regen in between those pulls and get shields and health back.

Think of DAMP as ME3MP with a permanent no shields  and limited deaths challenge on.  We're not playing in the same ballgame anymore.   I'm getting the feeling that it's going to take some character resets on the whole groups part before there is even consideration of trying to start things off on the second difficulty level let alone the 3rd.

From what I was watching 3 incaps in the same zone is going to automatically fade ghost you...  And if the team passes that zone.  Your under higher threat of fade ghosting again if you go down.  Gone are going to be our days of being able to pull up the level 1 50 times because the rest of us are level 20 and he's just there to help on the big things and stay out of the way because the other 3 of us are able to carry gold... Or potentially even 2 of us.  There is also the nasty side affect now that any time a group member fade ghosts that the rest of the enemies in the zone get stronger.

All very very valid points. And i agree and stand corrected.

However we should wait and see how exactly the gear is gona look. How much can we buff it via crafting , how much difference it will make and how cheesy of a combos we will be able to make. I mean some combos were just lol broken in ME3 and allowed even full lvl 1 party to finish off gold whit only one ability per character and one good weapon :). And lets not forget Firebase Gold XD ( i know im comparing eggs and apples right now ) so who knows if there is not some cheap way's to pull aggro to some broken corner or stuff.

But i do hope all you say come's true. Even tho i loved lol-ing araund on plat in ME3 MP im all up for even better challenge here - we may even see much greater variety of chosen characters ( instead of 3 infiltrators and one Geth Juggernaut )

Maybe not in the beginning, but eventually people will steamroll through the hardest difficulty and make it look easy.

Think about it, in the beginning players had difficulties extracting on gold. Then after a while some people played platinum with lvl 1 characters with common weapons.

Common weapons weren't always bad weapons.  I actually refused to use some of those rares and super rares that I collected because I didn't like them or the way they worked.

Well, most were still **** in terms of damage output.

Those guys with Level 1 kits and Common weapons were also using Level IV Equipment, which normally takes a few hundred hours played to unlock.
Nevertheless, it is a valid point. DAMP should get easier with time, although it still seems to be more challenging than ME3MP anyway.

From the little bit I played during the 6 hour trial it was definitely alot more team oriented tactics - I noticed that in some games there was another keeper who couldnt figure out for sh*t when and how to use his barrier - wheras another game had me an another keeper with a legionnaire and a rogue - we made it really far into the level (last stage) but died at the end due to how hard that part was - idk from what I saw individual players actions REALLY make a huge difference to the entire team - esp with the way the cds work

well it looks like we're going into this one blind boys (and girls).  Also I think I was wrong in the OP. You get Willpower, Cunning, and Constitution like Grommit stated earlier.

I would like to know, but thats life. :(

The Twitch feed I mention confirms that you get only cons, cunning, or willpower. In fact if you watch the screens they are the only three stats listed in multiplayer.  It also confirms that which one you get is totally dependant on class. We won't get to choose where to put it each time.

What is really up in the air at this point is just how fast the points actually gives us an advantage and how big of one.  Also from what they were saying some gear actually has levels to it. they were talking about being able to pick up high level gear but our cap is still level 20.  If this is the case this is also going to affect the curve on being op and pulling certain stuff as well.  We will find out more tonight.
