So now I'm trying to decide what to do with DAI. Start off with the default or a custom state? What're the rest of you forumites doing?

Personally I have to go with custom. I can generally spot where my choices have have effected the world and after waiting a year or so to play this game, I dont think I could hold back for an entire playthrough x)

Custom, that way you don't see anything you DEFINITELY didn't do included in the game, like the Redcliffe options and killing Connor

Always Custom (I plan on never using the default - simply because I don't like what they chose as the default...)

Custom.
Usually all my following playthroughs are similar to my first, so...

custom, I probaly won't play the default but I will have several world states for my various quizzys to exist in.

The way I look at it is that the "default" world state is just a custom world state done by someone else who made bad choices. Nope, never a default for me. I have more than enough world states to hold me over through a half dozen playthroughs.

Custom. I'm not allowing BioWare to decide who lives or dies in my playthrough(s). Only Darth Death decides on such things.

Custom. I honestly can't see myself ever using the default.

Click randomized world state in keep; don't check choices there.

See, I actually liked the contrast in ME because, as in DAI I gather, the default is designed to have minimal threads from past games.
So when I loaded up my custom state, I was pleasantly surprised to see how much had changed

Custom. I wouldn't mind the default if it wasn't so crapsack world - you didn't recruit people and didn't help them either. It was the same in Mass Effects, unless you use Genesis you end up with the Worst of All Worlds.

I will use my world state from the Keep, therefore no default one.

I'd definitely go with the custom world state. I don't want my characters to be blamed or credited for the things they didn't do.
I have at least 5 different worldstates, and in case I'd wanted to do a playthrough in the Worst World shaped by horribad decisions, I have one prepared specially for this purpose. ![]()

Why is this even a question? Why go default if you're an experienced player? Go with custom on the first run.

I thought the only people who used default were the ones that didn't play the previous games. I know that you lose a ton of your efforts when going straight into the game without loading a saved game or picking your history of the games past before starting. With the Keep, it's easier than ever. I don't want my choices picked out for me. Feel like I'm playing someone's game instead of my own.
Good thing about the Keep is I'll be able to try a few different things that interest me without having to replay all of DA1 and DA2 again. I still prefer game saves brought in because if feels more like a reward for your hard work, but the Keep is still pretty cool. It's very detailed.
