This isn't the real world, is it? It is a game. If we had millions of options per orientation like in reality, then fine. But we have 8 total for all orientations.

It seems like BioWare is damned if they do, damned if they don't when it comes to this sort of thing. If they made each and every companion equal opportunity, people would lambaste them as trivializing this or creating a harem that. And of course, anything in-between will be seen as insufficient to someone. Anyway, we really should get to actually know the characters they wrote before we get upset about their limits in the game.

I was hoping for a romance blooming between Cullen and Varric just to see the rage it would spark.

I don't see what's to hate about other characters getting with each other. It makes them more organic and gives them a sense of agency, rather than having them all on perpetual standby hoping that your Big Damn Hero finally pitches woo in their direction.

I recently learnt that apparently even knowing a LI gets it on with another companion spoils the romance for some even if in your playthrough it can never happen.

Some have said it felt like they were getting in the way of true love, which is fine but I can't help but feel there are others with the attitude 'my LI is only for me otherwise: soiled.' That I find kinda disturbing and I know I saw the latter in ME fans in regard to Garrus/Tali and MShep/Kaidan.

GIVE IT A REST.

Bioware is an inclusive and representative company, the fact that your bloody orientation isn't represented is based on numbers pure and simple. Get over it! There are only a finite number of resources and a finite number of romances. 6 different gender/orientation combos are represented. Why one orientation gets represented is a pure numbers game baby. The larger the numbers of a given orientation equals the ones that get represented. THIS IS SMART BUSINESS. Bioware isn't a social, not for profit charity, they are a business. So they want to cover the largest portions of the population with those 6 gender/orientation combos to maximize sales.

While I support the idea of you getting your orientation represented I am tired of your "I'm so hard done by" attitude towards Bioware. Suck it up.

Seeing people fall in love is pretty representative of the real world. If you don't like it DONT BUY A MATURE TITLE.

I wonder how people would feel if Liara actually got with someone. It would've been funny if it was Javik.

"Problem, primitive?"

I was hoping for both Josephine and Bull to get involved with same sex flirting/relationships if not romanced, since BW has been a bit bad about having bisexual characters default to apparent heterosexuality if the PC isn't interested, but after seeing Sera's recruitment... I can see why that isn't going to happen. Sera and Josephine are complete opposites and probably won't be able to stand each other, especially on Sera's end. Those two getting together would have made about as much sense as Fenris and Anders.

Still got my fingers crossed for Bull and Dorian, though.

They actually sort of implied Liara and Javik through out ME3. It's not as blatant as walking in on Garrus making out with Tali's helmet or whatever it is they were doing, but it's still there.

Here is what I learned from BSN, gamers are terrible. Doesn't matter their orientation or their public face of torrerance a large portion of people are simply selfish @#$%. Be it the guy ranting at how hard done by he is that iron bull wants to fliirt with him or the Woman ranting about how her choice to mod Morrigan as a Li was somehow gender discrimination on the part of Bioware because bioware didn't support it being represented in the DA:I era. Gamers suck. If they don't get what they want its a crime even if it is requires that other people get excluded all that matters is THEY get what they want. As i said this crosses all Orientations and is really just a by product of how self centred gamers are as a sub culture.

OP: If the person hitting on you was a female Qunari rather than the Iron Bull would you be having the same reaction?

If not, you might want to ask yourself a few questions. Questions like "am I homophobic even though I think I'm not?". Purely hypothetical here.

Man, there's a match I can't really fathom.

Shepard: So, Kaidan, how was your date with Miranda?

Kaidan: Went OK...I think.

Shepard: You think?

Kaidan: She was checking my file on her datapad. Something about medical history and information on my L2 implants.

Shepard: Yeah, she likes that kind of thing. If she didn't make an excuse to leave, it went well.

Kaidan: Huh...[rubs back of neck]. Thanks Shepard. It's something to think about.

I agree.

The writers have the right to write the characters according to how they envision them.

If there are characters who get into a romance with each other because our characters do NOT romance them...more power to them.

They DO NOT OWE US ANYTHING.

If people have issues with their favorite characters romancing other...its on them. The writers should NOT be blamed.

Social media has made it far worse.  I feel sorry for the developers and what they have to deal with.

And if you choose not to romance Blackwall or Josephine, you feel as though they should spend all their time pining after your Inquisitor, never knowing love?

That's fairly selfish.

Not at all. I hate it because I would want them to be together and not get in the way of it. So pretty much the opposite of what you are implying since the only one who wouldn't know love is my character in that scenario.

It has nothing to do with orientation representation, actually. Please actually read my posts before lecturing.

Not everybody. Vivienne was suprisingly not a romance option. Cole was unsurprisingly not a romance option. And Varric remains a bromance.

Are people really surprised about Cole not being a romance option considering...?

Someone tell the OP of this post that you don't HAVE to screw everything in the game.

He clearly misunderstood something.

I guess for people who aren't really familiar with his character, though I think his hat should have been evidence enough.

Liara, Tali, Miranda and Traynor <3

I do miss Tali tho I wish she would be back in some form in the coming ME4 if possible. Heck is like them ALL to be back in some type of way but ... prob won't happen.

I wish the entire ME trilogy was remastered with additional new cut scenes for the next gen consoles.

Oh well......

Are you upset over the fact that you didn't get the same amount or more romance options as female players? Or are you upset that Iron bull can be romanced? And why is any of it a problem?

Why? - Simple...in a way it is unfair, that the straight males get the short end of the stick (note: There's nothing wrong with Cassy and Josephine, but having less options than other players (not that I will not play as a female for a few runs...still) is bad IMHO - note: I know that the "everyone is bi-sexual (or player-sexual as some called it)" is not really logical and very unrealistic...but: you didn't have to use it (you could imagine that Fenris, Anders etc. are straight for example - if you wished to) and it was fair

Also there's things like personal preferences you have to take into account - some just don't like the options available to them...it's a board to voice ones opinions, so stop the god-damned bashing and posting of stupid pictures -.- (flaming is not cool!)

greetings LAX

ps: I know that they can't take everybodies opinion into account or make a "one game fits all" kind of game (so no one complains), but sometimes I would like it if it actually looked like they did listen to us (people complained - loudly at that - about quite many things in DA:I...from romances to 8-slot limitation for skills/spells to the removing of the healing and while they defended their choices, they never voiced the why or even took back a single thing (note: I don't want them to bend over backwards, but is it bending over, if you undo something many of your fans hate? - After all there's fan-service already (Cullen - enough said), so why don't take one more step towards us and throw out those artificial content stretchers (spell limit and no healing - one makes fights longer, if you don't have the proper spells with you and the other makes you backtrack - which was un-needed with healing!) and give us more (and more diverse) options in what really sets Bioware games apart from others: Romances (along with good characters of course)?
