Dalish lore claims the elven gods were betrayed by the trickster who imprisoned all of them, therefore they cannot do anything but ignore for the time being.

Then why do they believe that being a true elf is the key to their release?

Some elves also claim their gods turned their back on them because they let humans in.

Guys should really make up their mind.

Because division will still exist, difference will still exist, conformity is the cure for that.

doesnt that often breed stagnation and resentment for revolts? Indiviuality is a facet of all life

It's really not much different than Chantry beliefs. That the Maker will come back when the world stays true to him and the Chant spreads.

Sebastian points out the same thing to Merrill actually..he thought they might've been sharing the same myth.

Individuality is not a product of culture nor of collective society for that matter, but to answer your question.

No; Culture can exist in stasis it can and has through out history, for centuries.

That would require the opportunity for an elf to be divine or your "conformity" theory is BS, sorry if I'm blunt but it is. Your idea needs to have absolute equality for everyone to work. Either the cultures should be tolerated or everyone should be given same opportunity and equality.

I wonder how the Dalish Inquisitor is going to be viewed by the elves living in Andrastian lands. I'm curious to see how they will react to a person who follows the faith of the Creators, particularly if the Inquisitor makes it clear that he doesn't believe in the Maker. It'll also be interesting to see how the clans respond to the elven protagonist gaining power as the leader over an organization of shemlen who see him as a divine figure.

Yeah, it can be interesting but I didn't see any other Dalish, will have to wait for that one I guess. Also I hoped they would include the trickster (Fen'Harel) in Inquisition. He would make a perfect Loki (Thor reference)

It was mentioned a while back on the Bioware Blog that we would meet some Dalish, and I'd speculate that we'll have some contact with Clan Lavellan.

If I play an elf, it'll be an excuse to do just that as well. But I like the Chantry/human angle more, so it'll be my first playthrough.

That said, I don't plan on playing a "Velanna" either. As much as I like her, she was poisonous, even to her own clan. Being that pissed off isn't productive. As fun as it might be.

That wouldn't be an issue of conformity however, that would be an issue of racial inclination.

It appears that's pretty much universe throughout Thedas, everyone can agree elves are subhuman creatures who live in alienages.

Can't agree on much else besides the Maker, Chantry and that the Qunari are bad but...hey!

Progress takes time.

Oh NOW i definately have to kill them at least in one playthrough!

As much as I hated to do it, my canon Hawke kills Merrill's clan. It was my first accidental choice when I first played. And I decided to stick with it. My Hawke needs some flaws to bite him back in the ass.

I don't need to kill more Dalish now. I've had my fill.
