TME means "The Masked Empire", the book about the start of the Orlesian Civil War. I can't help you with the video, sorry.

True. Celene has the intention, Gaspard hasn't. However, there's another axis to be taken into consideration: the will to make their intentions come true. Gaspard has will in spades. Lots of will. We know that he will kill his own supporters if they go against his promises. Meanwhile, Celene lacks that commitment. I think that was the point of TME.
That means that the only positive solutions for the elves are either to make Gaspard promise his help or to turn Celene into a more committed ruler (committed to their interests, mind you; being committed to the arts doesn't count).
I get that Celene is a bit of a pragmatists as to what she can accomplish, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have the commitment. She has already done more for elves then any of her predecessors.

and then she went back on it when it was inconvenient

Really when? Did she suddenly kick elves out of the university? Did she suddenly remove elven merchants from the merchant district? Did she suddenly stop policing those who abused elvish merchants in Val Royeux?
No, she put down a rebellion. She sought to deal with it in her way, and Gaspard forced her hand. Even Briala says she didn't have a choice about Halamshiral.
Look, you can choose to like someone else, but don't just classify political reality as inconvenient.
Those of you thinking Gaspard would do better, recall he has already broken his oath to serve Celene.

TIL killing elves in the thousands isn't as bad as kicking them out of school

Even Briala says she didn't have a choice about Halamshiral.
I can agree with other points, but not this. In fact, it was discussed in the book. At the beginning of chapter 14, Briala is trying to convince herself that it was unavoidable. That the elves rebelled, that Celene "had done what she had to do". Also, she blames herself in part. Had she been there, "she might have been able to turn Celene to a different course". And that's the part where it's evident that there was a choice.
I'm not talking about killing elves = bad. No, really, even rulers that are considered today paragons of humanitarism would put down revolts bloodily if necessary. No, the problem is that it was a trap. A trap that Briala could see in chapter 7, even imprisoned in the wagon. So clear was her guessing that Gaspard lampshaded it later:
“Empress Celene would not have attacked the city had you not forced her,” Michel said, looking up from his work to meet Gaspard’s stare.
“True. But that’s not what Briala said in that wagon outside the city,” Gaspard said, and took another bite of the bread. “As I recall, she even knew what I was going to do, and failed to warn Celene.”
So yes, there was a choice. Even looking at it from a ruthlessly pragmatic point of view, Celene chose badly. And given that people in-universe guessed the trap right before it happened, it can't be attributed to the benefits of hindsight.
Soo anyone.. Albino elf.. is it possible?
Why not? I've heard the character creator allows this time for a ridiculous number of options (except hairstyles, sigh), including colours. If anime-like Inquisitors are possible, why not the much more realistic albinos?

Yes, she failed to warn her about the trap, and yes Celene walked into that one blindly, but Briala still admits that Gaspard forced her hand and there wasn't another alternative at that point.
While I enjoyed TME, I think Weekes tried to hard to build Gaspard and Briala up, but alas that is just my opinion.

I'm not going to post any spoilers but I've just been speaking to an elf character in the first couple of hours in game. And it cast a very harsh light on the dalish on a personal level.

I've had enough exposure to the Dalish so far to have a fairly positive view of them. An interesting ethnic group of elves filled with flawed people who refuse to surrender their cultural or religious beliefs, despite the demand for conformity from certain groups and societies. I'm looking forward to playing as a pro-Dalish elven Inquisitor. Someone who cares about the Dalish and the elves who live under shemlen rule, an individual who views magic as a gift of the Creators, and who has to deal with the hardship of working with members of a group who have been enemies of the People for centuries.
If only the Inquisitor could use elvish vernacular instead of Andrastian terms...

Merrill's clan, the Clan in TME, and a few people in Zathrian's clan definitely.
Wait... that's the majority of the Dalish we've seen isn't it?

I guess but he still used those slurs the elves tote around like badges of honor.
Seriously; Quick children, stone children?
What sort of nonsense paints yourself as superior to all other life when it obviously isn't true?
