I really don't know what people expect. If you ****** on a group long enough, they'll hit these levels of resentment. It happens all over the real world too. There's no easy way of "fixing" it or telling people to get over whatever troubles them. Look at the middle eastern political strife. Most of it is borne from bitterness. Nobody is "getting over it" anytime soon, no matter how many of their children get killed or how many bombs get dropped. Same with groups like the Dalish.. You could kill off thousands to your heart's content and you won't make a dent in their attitude. Sooner or later, you have to ask yourself "Why" instead of brushing it all off.
And yet its said the PC's dalish clan is a rare one that cares about all races. So not everyone uses their races past history as an excuse to be bitter and bigoted themselves.

I think there was one denial choice (the whole "but they send them to other clans!" before you get shut down by Vivi and pull a sad face). The second was the THEY DIED FREEEEE! choice and the third...forgot what the third was but I don't think it denounced it.

That was the smart move by the Arishok. The Qunari at least know how strong a weapon the Qun is. It's only a matter of time when other elves act like their brethren in Kirkwall.
edit: To be clear, I don't even like the Qunari. I just think this would be a good wake up call. And challenge.

I wasn't going to spoil it but it's already done, so here goes.
A member of the inquisition, Minaeve, was born a dalish with the gift of magic. However she was one mage too many. So when her magic manifested at age seven, her enlightened clan gave her pack and abandoned her alone in the wilderness.
She eventually found her way to a village where, predictably, people reacted badly to magic. The templars protected her from the mob and took her to the safety of the circle.
That was taken from her when her fellow mages rebelled, not being strong enough to fight she wasn't taken with them.
The good guys in that really seem to be the templars, when they're following their duty. Protecting mage and non-mage from the dangers of magic.
