Oooooh. Probably. Hopefully.
A mage slave in control of the normal slaves to give them a bit of influence and power and make them more loyal and split the slaves into factions? Sensible.
Hasn't it been explained in the past that the Keepers, at least in the past, were from the noble/influential families from the Dales before it was destroyed? At least that's what I'm recalling, but my memory has always been fuzzy. I really, really like the idea of it being more though, or of the elves who populated the Dales were the first ones to make the mistake and didn't know what it originally meant. I'm really enjoying this 'Ancient Elves are not the Paragons of virtue' shtick the game beat us to death with, it makes them more realistic and dare I say relate-able. There were good ones, and there were bad ones. Just like there are in Tevinter. Actually... Am I the only one who gets the feeling that if we do go to Tevinter in the next game we might just see parallels between the two cultures in that fact? What if the civil war that wiped out the elves was between the masters and their supporters, and the slaves and those who wished them free or wished to force change? Dorian talks about wanting to change Tevinter for the better, but what if that's a catalyst for history repeating itself?
