You know, attitude of survivors like Dalish usually mirrors the attitude of their enemies. Because their current attitude is necessary against said enemies, or it simply beats the alternative. (city elves)

Don't expect the anti-elf users to suddenly grow a epiphany. They will continue to single out the Dalish for things like bigotry and self-righteousness and persecution-cards etc. etc. in the most overblown ways. And call for disproportionate retributions.

They're awfully sensitive about what people say about them on the internet, aren't they?

Well, that happens to an extent in Inquisition, with Clan Lavellan being hailed as heroes in Wycome, or Skyhold under a Dalish Inquisitor who follows the faith of the Creators.

There he is.

I am eagerly anticipating your analysis of the revelations provided in DA:I.  I sincerely hope you create a new topic soon.

Does anyone know where I can find the Dalish banner?

I assumed it was a reward for a war table mission I didn't get as a human, but I don't actually know.

Thank you for actually giving an answer to my question. I guess my search will continue.

I thought I started with it, but what do I know.

I rarely messed with the decorations of Skyhold.

I do know you get Dalish Banner II from some war table mission though...at least I think it was a war table mission...it could have been a random drop...

I don't think a new topic would lead to anywhere good in this thread.

Out of curiosity, what crazily disproportionate retributions have I called for against the Dalish lately?

You pointed out their flaws. Shame on you.

You missed my point. Any of you elf haters would definitely chose the Dalish over city elf if you were an elf yourself and had the chance to choose. None of us could deal with constant suffering in lives of city elves.

The Dalish are treating the world and its people like its treating them. Pointing out these so called flaws doesn't change anything. They are perfectly satisfied with isolation from humans and this alone was the "crime" and excuse for hostilities between Orlais and Elves. Elves wanted to completely ignore humans, they didn't want the benefit of the trade, they didn't ask the humans for any help and in return they didn't help either. I don't see why we can't give Dalish a land and let them ignore and be ignored.

The ruins in the Emerald Graves give a slightly different story, as recorded by Elves of the dales themselves.

The hostility was started by Orlais because they were mad the elves didn't help with the blight. Once a war begins, at that point ignoring is no longer an option.

Why wouldn't you consider having your army standing by and watching while Orlesian cities burn 'hostility'?

I mean, an argument of 'X started it because of something Y did beforehand' doesn't make chronological sense. If X is a result of Y, then Y would be the 'start' point of animosities.

There are plenty of minorities who have had it far worse than the city elves who didn't go on to become the Dalish.

'Elves' didn't want to completely ignore humans. 'The rulers of the Dales' wanted to completely ignore humans, and were content to purge elves who disagreed and attempting to prohibit elves from having any choice.

The elves aren't a monolithic group with singular identity or desires. Cultural purists or elven identity advocates have no greater claim to monopolizing the elves exposure to culture than anyone else.

Well... If that human woman hadn't seduced that poor elf with her good looks, then none of this would have happened! Burn the humans!

Giving the scroll to Hawen's clan leads to finding out that both sides were at fault for different reasons, and Hawen's clan wants to send a peace offering to Red Crossing for the wrong that the elves played in the events that lead to the war between humans and elves centuries ago.

I thought the elf stuff in DAI was interesting. I'm an elf fan largely and I liked it, especially the reveals.

Spoiler

I believe that what we will be seeing next is the elven Creators returning, for better or worse.  Fen'Harel is either tracking them down to release them or to shore up the Veil (their prison).

Probably we'll have to kill the ones who have gone crazy with their imprisonment, helped by the ones who are sane.
