Promotions come around.

Thedas,my phone auto corrected

You people and your technology.

The elves will never reclaim their past glory, its been true of them ever since Tolkien put ink to paper

Untrue. Many elves regained their glory since then. Elves of Thedas will be no different.

they were forced into them after they started a war they couldn't win

And they were put there so they would never be strong enough to rise up again. It's a common tactic.

If they were never a threat, I don't see why. They deserve to be free just like anyone else, and they deserved their own homeland. They still do.

If the ancient elves ever do try to rise again and rebuild Elvenhan, I hope we can stop them. We already have Tevinter to worry about. We don't need the culture that Tevinter took inspiration from around as well.

Now the City Elves getting a new territory, most likely a protectorate, I am still totally fine with. The Dalish can come too if they agree to not try to make it like the ancient elves.

I wish they would have let me change my character's body form. I made my character resemble myself (something I'm proud of because family and friends and my husband kept walking by and instantly just knowing that it was "me" in the game because it looked like me), but it can't ever really be like me because the body is just too little, thin, long, and doesn't have enough curves in places. =P

they were a threat, and they have been dealt with. At this point city elves are more like their fellow andrastian humans than those barbarians laboring under the delusion of elf supremacy called the Dalish.

Who exactly started the war is still in dispute. And its probably gonna stay that way.

It is in no way in dispute. It was before we found out the attack on Red Crossing was prompted by elves seeking to cover up the murder of a chantry sister. Then as barbarian hill folk are wont to do they lost

Ironic as it is Sauron would have probably been the best hope for that :P

He and his Master were the highest tier of elves if you look at how the interbreeding went after creation.

No they were not. By virtue of trying to isolate themselves, they were not trying to threaten anything.

The Dalish are elven hillbillies i coined that term for them years ago :P

That's my biggest problem playing an elven female. Sera's body model has healthy proportions and the Inquisitor is emaciated.

What part of killing Chantry sisters and massacring border towns is peaceful isolationism?

They are warlike barbarians and should have been brought to heel sooner

Exactly.

<.< Them embarking upon a war of conquest, murder and horror in return for a Chantry sister and elven general having an affair doesn't sound like a erm...act of isolation.

God i love DAI :P

It basically confirms things i have been saying for years.

Like the entire basis for defense of the elves is without merit :P

This thread, honestly. I wish the zealots would go somewhere else to lob hyperbole bombs at each other. You're ridiculous.

Did anyone expect or want Thedas elves to be fairy elves? Can you not deal with shades of grey?

It isn't hyperbole.

The attack at Red Crossing; the entire thing that prompted Chantry intervention in the first place was caused by the event just cited.

Shades of gray? Pfft.

Sorry to say this **** is black and white.

The entire war kicked off because of elven racists didn't like the idea of the mingling of the blood of human and elf.

They lost Andraste's boon themselves.

They started the war, they fought and murdered so their precious little race could be pure, and it ended up obliterating it.

You mean the border towns that were constantly sending in Templars?

To protect priests yes; because given that Red Crossing was only attacked because of the events above, well they were obviously not there in a martial capacity.

So yeah, kudos for pointing out something the elves themselves didn't think was worth mentioning.

Thats not what prompted the attack, we have an account, from the Dalish I might add, about what started it, and it was the murder of a chantry sister having an affair with an emerald knight. The account makes no note of templars. Its likely an invention made up by the Dalish to excuse their blatant war mongering

It's mentioned on one of the Emerald Graves. Years and years of buildup, and then one of their own lets the enemy in. But lets blame the elves, because someone besides humans had to be at fault.

The fact remains that the Dales cut a swath of death and destruction through Orlais after the events at Red Crossing. In fact, they were about to sack the capital by the time the Exalted March was called. So they were a threat.

This honestly made me get a chuckle if nothing else; watching years and years of this defense of those who i knew never deserved it, only for my own suspicions, theories and thoughts to be proven right?

It was a glorious moment.
