Better blame the ones who got massacred for the crime of being in the same town as a chantry sister who had the audacity to love an elf. Clearly they deserved to be killed

So I canceled my plan to play Dalish elf. Wouldn't be able to take myself seriously at this point.

<.< Them embarking upon a war of conquest, murder and horror in return for a Chantry sister and elven general having an affair doesn't sound like a erm...act of isolation.

God i love DAI :P

It basically confirms things i have been saying for years.

Like the entire basis for defense of the elves is without merit :P

This is why I'm here as someone who does not care about defense nor victim's point of view. This is the problem I encounter very often 'we are poor, hurt and we wish to be left alone, you you bad humans you-you <points with a stick>'.

I wish to see elven domination, supremacy in its purest form. Lesser races extinct, living only on the pages of an old, dusty books.

I really want to see a final scene of DA series with my protagonist's child asking him ' father, will you take me to theatre, I want to see the last breathe of the last human '

Embrace the superiority, embrace the slaughter and rise in the name of the Ancients binded by the will of Elvhenan!

o.o I can picture an Chantry sunburst flag being planted atop the ruins once their armies are marching again through red crossing; this time on their way into the Dales.

I honestly would love to see that ruined settlement; i get the feeling it like Gettysburg, Agincourt and Waterloo and other sites of vicious and bloody battles would be filled with much history.

Curious. I need to know where to find more information on the Red Crossing village thingy.

*EDIT*

God I wish _lobselvith_ was around. He's better at this than me. Even though at plenty of times he could be really annoying with his elf fetish.

It isn't hyperbole.

The attack at Red Crossing; the entire thing that prompted Chantry intervention in the first place was caused by the event just cited.

Shades of gray? Pfft.

Sorry to say this **** is black and white.

The entire war kicked off because of elven racists didn't like the idea of the mingling of the blood of human and elf.

They lost Andraste's boon themselves.

They started the war, they fought and murdered so their precious little race could be pure, and it ended up obliterating it.

And no other race would start a war for stupid reasons.

The elves are interesting and multi-faceted... the only story here is that the writers are doing their jobs.

The Emerald Graves gets an war room mission to team up with some Dalish elves to explore some ruins. I got the war room option after doing the Orlais story mission.

The truth of Red Crossing, and what you do with it, is the finale for the mission.

This honestly made me get a chuckle if nothing else; watching years and years of this defense of those who i knew never deserved it, only for my own suspicions, theories and thoughts to be proven right?

It was a glorious moment.

I think the word is vindication.

Taking my player characters seriously has never been a problem of mine.

There's relatively little to discuss. The Dalish are an ethnic race of different people who share some cultural interests and views, and handling the scroll over to the Dalish reveals that the inception of the war between humans and elves wasn't as one-sided as they thought, but that both sides did wrong things that ultimately culminated in the war, which is why the Dalish want to extend a peace offering to the town of Red Crossing - since they discovered they were wrong to think the start of the war was entirely one-sided.

There's really nothing to debate.

Too bad there wasn't a "gloat about it to the Dalish" option.

I wish that old racist storyteller could have heard it :P

What wrong things did the humans do? Love an elf and try to taint their bloodline forever?

There's really nothing to debate.

On that we agree.

The elves were entirely at fault, entirely to blame and entirely responsible.

Their destruction is as i have said for many times is upon themselves.

No they were not. By virtue of trying to isolate themselves, they were not trying to threaten anything.

That's not quite true. Isolationist policies can be harmful to outsiders depending on the means by which isolation is pursued.

Closing your ports to foreign traders and travel? Doesn't hurt anyone. Creating a powerful military order that shoots to kill peaceful trespassers in the name of insularity? Scary. Refusing to assist foreigners in a time of crisis when you had the clear ability to intervene? People are hurt. Sacking neighboring settlement because one of your soldiers had the gall to convert and try to leave, leading to an unprovoked invasion and conquest of major cities?

Wee bit threatening there.

You don't really think that one war is the sum of all the problems that have existed between humans and elves throughout history. Give me a break. We already knew since Origins that elves and humans had been allied at times in the ancient past, as well as fought. But if you think the writing is a matter of black and white, you're probably going to find yourself disappointed again because Bioware tends to subvert that as a rule. So save your gloating, it has no point.

LOL You do know Elgar'nan originally held the symbol of the sunburst?  One of the guys trapped in the Golden/Black City, right?

Methinks the Chantry needs to rethink who their "Maker" and "Bride of the Maker" are.

The alliance with the Dalish and the Grey Wardens came into being after the second blight.

To be honest if they had ignored the blight even with those treaties in place...they'd probably just look even worse.

I don't gloat. Don't see the point of it, really.

People tried to make arguments that weren't supported. People were wrong. Story of my life.

Rectification will occur. People who try to cling to old arguments in the face of new evidence will be mocked. Those who eat crow and adapt accordingly will not be belittled.

Human religion may not be validated, but it most certainly hasn't been invalidated. Unlike the Dalish.

LOL You do know Elgar'nan originally held the symbol of the sunburst star?

The Chantry sunburst and that symbol aren't the same either in meaning or appearance.

It doesn't much matter to anything else.

Its like pointing out to a hinduist that the Swastika if turned to the left represents something else.

I don't mean Grey Wardens. The Arcane Warrior tells you that elves and humans were fighting together against a greater evil.

The Bride of the Maker is Andraste, who was by no account a knife ear, according to Tevinter she was a mage, but not even the deluded fools the Dalish are think she was an elf
