I wonder if some can tell me So what are the good qualities of the Dalish?
most of their "good" traits are shown to be extremes but its definatly pride and convictionI wonder if some can tell me So what are the good qualities of the Dalish?

First time in awhile I've seen one of the Seven Deadly Sins (and the embodiment of some of the most powerful demons) raised as a group's 'good' trait. ![]()

More hubris than pride, in my opinion. Not a good trait.
Their best trait is probably their resourcefulness. They can make due with very little.
pride can be a good thing in moderation and occassion hahaFirst time in awhile I've seen one of the Seven Deadly Sins (and the embodiment of some of the most powerful demons) raised as a group's 'good' trait.

They care for each other in their clan. They're hard working, independent, have more survival skills than most humans and any dwarf. They have found ways to train mages that reduce the number of abominations without the need for templars, although when a clan has too many mages, how they help the other mages changes from clan to clan. They are resourceful, and seem to be able to understand and communicate with halla in a bond of friendship and not domestic animal servitude, unlike dwarves or humans.

They don't care what you think of them and their way of life, and they don't ask anyone else's leave to be who they are.
Thanks for some of the replies. I like the dalish, but espeically on the forums they are portrayed as evil stupid ignorant elves. so thanks for the replies ![]()
question: do the elves, either city or dalish, have any holidays? We know about the human holidays, but do the elves have their own?
never trust any disscussion on tge bsn 8/10 we are foaming lunitics lolThanks for some of the replies. I like the dalish, but espeically on the forums they are portrayed as evil stupid ignorant elves. so thanks for the replies

F*ck the forums. Meet them in Origins as anything other than a Dalish Elf. Meet them in DA II. Read on their one dimensional villainy in The Masked Empire. Grab the codex about Red Crossing In Inquisition.
Bioware has done this to the Dalish, they are to blame. The Forumers who dislike them are simply going along with what Bioware has consistently portrayed the Dalish to be.

This PoV has always been strange to me. In my playthroughs, the Dalish were actually more polite to my Cousland and Surana than they were to my Mahariel. In general, the way the Dalish clan in DA:O responds to you is based on how respectful you are.

Like abandoning some of them in the middle of the forest.
I thought the dalish abandoning mages was due to avoiding conflict with Templars rather than being afraid of mages. Also I don't think the dalish were that bad in Da:o and da:2, they were accepting run away mages city elves and even a half blood. Then all of a sudden they are worse than hitler.
Instead of leaving them to die they could send them to a Circle. And Dalish mages have to compete for their position as First and Second. So, you can guess what happens to those who lose.
Every clan is different, it could be just mineave's clan that forces them out for all I know. There could be clans that don't have a limit on the amount of mages. And there are clans that wait for the meeting they gathering they have to give a Mage over to another clan.Instead of leaving them to die they could send them to a Circle. If there is one thing we know about the dalish it Is that get love eachother like one big happy family, so the whole leaving kids to die in the Forrest is a pretty shitty move by bioware.
Really?
Yeah, I guess i just feel that they are trying to force the dalish hate.Really?

Or, you know, portray them as they intended.
It's out of character imoOr, you know, portray them as they intended.
How is that out of character? Because elves can do no wrong and are these hippy tree huggers, flower sniffers and friends to all animals beings?
That's just boring.
Out of character for the people who: sat out a Blight, cursed an entire forest for centuries with werewolves, killed people for coming too close to their camps, tried to murder us because we told them the truth, and summoned a Forbidden One just to turn a mirror on? Totes out of character.

so Br3admax, what good things can you say about the dalish?
