There may be a thread similar to this but the search function on this forum sucks and I can't find it so sorry if this is a repeat but anyway...

What do you think of the voice actors for the Inquisitor and which one will you be choosing and why?

In case you don't know they are:

Female

Alix Wilton Regan  (English)

Sumalee Montano   (American)

Male

Harry Hadden-Paton  (English)

Jon Curry                    (American)

The only one whose work I know well is Alix as Samantha Traynor in ME3. I adore her but I feel like it might break immersion to hear the voice of Traynor when I play a female. I heard a little of Sumalee and I really love the sound of her voice. I heard a little of the guys and i think I prefer the American guy but I'm probably going to play a human male first and there are very few American sounding humans in the DA-verse. The trouble I had with Hawke as well is that I'm English and I don't really want my Inquisitor to sound like a toff. Hawke was so well spoken, it was off putting to me.

What do you guys think?

ETA: Just remembered Jon did the voice of Zevran but obviously he was faking the accent and the characters sound nothing alike so it's not a lot to go on.

I might try both and see how they work. The female Inq didn't sound all that menacing as a Brit, maybe I'll got with American...

Is it just me or does the female english voice sound like she's about to break down crying?

I watched a vid with a female elf and her voice was trembling.

I really like both dudequisitor voices, and Inquisitor Traynor - Sumalee is great but her performance feels a little inconsistent to me (she has some moments where she's a bit flat? Her line delivery as a dwarf in one of the spoilery videos just didn't do it for me. I liked her as Nyreen in ME3 though).

I'm told the American voices work better for dwarves and Qunari; English accents suit humans and elves. Might break immersion for a Qunari to sound like he just walked off the BBC but it could be funny too.

This is what they say and they are default in the CC but I'm trying to remember an English-sounding elf. In DAO, they were all American and in DA2, they were Irish (except Welsh for Merrill) for Dalish and American for city.

If I ever get round to playing a qunari I'm not sure there's a voice that fits.

I will choose my elven Inquisitior's accent when I know the Elven accent which I think Bioware offically said it is Birtish accent and I think they have said in one of the twitch streams that the British accent fits more to humans and elves and the american one fits more to the Dwarven and Qunari inquisitors. If thats the case I will go with the biritsh one.

She definitely sounds young and girlish (I hope she doesn't read this as I love her). The first I heard her speak in game was a video of a big burly qunari and in that clip it was a bit wierd.

Jon Curry for my male qunari warrior and Sumalee Montano for my female dwarven rogue. I like deep voices.

I'll probably pick british voices for elves and human mages.

I would, but Bioware doesn't have that hairstyle in the game.

My femquisitor will look similiar to the one seen in the skyhold video except with red hair and thinner lips and a small scar beside her left eye

Can you link the video?

Hopefully someone will crack the engine and we can mod. I did a few hair mesh mods and texture mods for ME3. I'm a control freak when it comes to how my character looks.

For my first playthrough I want to play as the American female voice but at the end of the day it'll depend on if it fits my character's face or not.

From what I've heard in Early Access and from watching footage, all four voice actors are brilliant. But I will be going for the voice actor that fits the character from a lore perspective.

My Human Male will be voiced by Harry, and my Female Qunari will be voiced by Sumalee.

Hawke is a noble so....

Anyway, I like the British Voice, so that one. I'll be playing human almost every time anyway.

I didn't hear ANY of the voices, so i hoped that the English male one sounds really cool.

I haven't heard much either. I'm trying my hardest to avoid any spoilers. I know that in the CC you can hear a few short sentences. I hope it's enough to make my mind up. I probably will end up going English over American as it makes more sense lore-wise unless... I just hope Harry sounds a bit gruffer than Hawke's VA did. He sounded like he went to Eton or something.

For a woman, likely the North American option.

For a man, likely the Brit.
