Welcome to the Arlathan talking thread. Here we will talk about facts or some ideas to what Arlathan was, and where it dissapeared. Some pepole claim that Arlathan is the golden city. sounds like an intrensting view in my opinnion. Where do YOU thing Arlathan dissapeard? And how you thing Arlathan looked like? And what do you think Arlathan was? Btw, in an interview with Mike Laidlaw, he have said that Bioware have finished with the south and he imagine that the future DA games will be about northen Thedas. He have also stated that the futue DA games will discover even more on Elves. Which brought me a HUUUGE  joy.

i don't think arlathan is the golden city.

I actually think Arlathan and the rest of the major elven cities sunk beneath the earth, intentionally or accidentally.  The few elven ruins we have seen have been underground, as have the eluvians. The humans wouldn't completely raze and abandon such major cities, they would instead set up their own settlements on them. This of course begs the question who or what has the power to do such a thing?

Hmm intrensting... You think there are elves that still know the Old ways of Arlathan fully, that are living to survive with the Dwarves? Or they have died when the blights destroyed the dwarven Kingdoms.. But who knows? Orzammar is not the only dwarven city, there is another one in Tevinter or Orlais I think.

Another big question: Was Arlathan Abseloute Monarchy? Magichry? Democratic state? Or Chaothic? A Religieous leader ruled it? Well my opinnion in the matter is that Arlathan was a Magichary. Like modern Tevinter, if it was not magichary it was abseloute monarchy in my opinnion, or a democratic republic?

Yet another, apparently Arlathan-era elven ruin that is inside solid rock. The architecture looks a bit like the dwarven style too, only with more magic.  Could the species be related? I have yet to open all the doors but judging from the sheer amount of magical stuff going on, I'm inclined to believe Solas in that the ancient elves were basically magic incarnate. Consideringing that and that the dwarves seem to be the exact opposite....I don't think its an accident. Parellel lines of evolution maybe, like humans and Neanderthals?
