Who she is. It's the same as saying that your sexuality is an unnecessary modifier.
My sexuality is only a part of who I am, and if this world were as tolerant as Thedas seems to be, it would be a much smaller one.

Morrigan want to keep the child for herself, so that is not happening either.
Invalid.
In Witch Hunt, Morrigan allows a romanced male Warden to join her through the Eluvian. (We don’t know what happens thereafter, of course, but it does seem like she changes her mind.)

Can you explain how an additional option to Morrigan’s sexual orientation destroys the character? What, exactly, does it change about her?

This is crazy. You could argue the same for any companion. Isabela could have been a sexually aggressive Lesbian or Hertosexual who wants to have a fling here and a fling there and it wouldn't have destroyed her character. Alistair could have been gay and it wouldn't have destroyed his character. Any companion could have been any orientation and it would not have destroyed their character. That isn't the point or the bar at which to measure the inclusion of orientation.
Sexual orientation 101
Some people in this world Like "dangly bits." Some of the people who Like "dangly bits" have "dangly bits" themselves. Some people who like "dangly bits" have "inny bits."

Some people in this world like both "inny bits" & "dangly bits," and some of the people who like both come in a "inny bit" model, some come in a "dangly bit" model.
Because the world is like this storytellers like to assign sexual orientation to characters when telling the story. It makes the make-believe world feel more representative of the real world.
I hope this helps explain why morrigan was a woman who liked dangly bits.

And?
What influence does that have on the moment she sets the terms on how this "Ritual" will work? She doesn't change her mind In terms of the female Warden because SHE DOES NOT LOVE YOU LIKE THAT.

Because she's a straight woman who prefers men and fell in love with a man who's also the father of her child.
My sexuality is only a part of who I am, and if this world were as tolerant as Thedas seems to be, it would be a much smaller one.
And Morrigan's is a part of her, and it's a big part of why she doesn't want to bang you or let you raise her child. Deal with it, just like every guy who's attracted to you, and I'm sure there's many, has to do the same.

Sorry we're so intolerant. Being content with Morrigans sexuality, such bigots we. Will have to remember to be progressive and expect people to change their sexuality based on my whims. Straight dorian here we come!
Certainly the OP is right in that Morrigan should've been romanceable by everyone (and happily she was on the PC thanks to mods) but at the very least a female PC should've been able to do the 'dark ritual' with her. There's just no logical reason why not, given that it wasn't about a traditional night of 'relations', it was about magic. Last I checked, magic works on both men *and* women
. But when it comes to such matters, it's pretty typical for many folks to be limited by their own preconceptions, rather than being unlimited by imagination, which is why not everyone sees what 'should' be obvious to all. Hopefully in the future imagination and choice-maximization will replace needless limitations.

From today on, I am Demi-Pansexual.
Dude....... This just made my day. *dies laughing*
You are welcome.

I'm certain a fireball works equally on everyone, much like getting a male or female pregnant has equal success rate, meaning 0% chance.
Magic In Thedas does not work like that. May you deal with it In peace.

You see, to create a human being, sperm, that's the male sex cell, has to unite with an ovum, that's the female sex cell. The ritual made it so the Old God's soul would join with the child. The child still has to exist first. I'm sorry we're limited by our bigoted acceptance of modern science. Forgive us. It's the only life we know.

<snip pointless stuff>
It is.
You’re arguing—when you’re not too busy trying to be cleverly condescending—that something is inescapably true by virtue of existing. Morrigan is straight because she is straight. I disagree with that, though I do understand the view that it is somehow a defining trait of her personality.

(I was also trying to avoid addressing it to the last because I know that it’s only going to be more of a distraction… but it’s highly debatable that Morrigan was “written to be straight” rather than just being the heteronormative default in a time when Leliana and Zevran—and Liara—were controversial.)
you have got to be joking
So she wasn't actually written to be straight as opposed to lesbian, because she was written as heteronormative, even though there are other gay characters?
You also don't get to disagree that she is straight, in canon, Morrigan is interested in men
Maybe you should ask Morrigan to try not being straight. ![]()

I love that you use the words “modern science”, “old god”, and “soul” in the same argument.

unless reproduction works differently in Thedas, which we have no reason to believe because of codex entries detailed same-sex relationships, then yes it is applicable

I like how when DA:I unlocks tomorrow, the OGB in it will be fathered and raised by my Warden. See, everyone's happy; everyone gets what they want.

To your first assertion "Morrigan should've been romanceable by everyone." By what bar/rational can you assert this premiss? Player choice? Thats a pretty invalid reason. Player choice isn't the be all and end all, as much as SOME players think so. By the rational of player choice Flemeth, Loghain, Anora, Dog, Wynne, Sandal all should have been romance options.
As to your second assertion "at the very least a female PC should've been able to do the 'dark ritual' with her." Why? Because of magic? Just because magic does some things it can't do all things. By your logic I shuld be able to cast a spell and make enemies become 9 month pregnant and induce labour. I mean magic works on both men and women why can't i just cast a spell to make all my enemies pregnant and entering labour? Or why can't i turn them all into chickens with one leg half the size of the other? Magic has limits and when magic has no limits its makes for a rather fast and rather boring story.
"Help help the big bad fuzzy wuzzy is upon us!"
"Don't worry i'll save the day" Snaps fingers and makes the world perfect with magic.
The end.
I love that you use the words “modern science”, “old god”, and “soul” in the same argument.

There weren’t gay characters in Origins, to be exact, if you define straight/gay as across all playthroughs only interested in one gender. Leliana and Zevran were specifically added to give same-sex options—the default is heterosexual.
And, *sigh*, yes, I do understand that Morrigan is male player character-sexual in the unmodified game. I really do. Trust me. I’m aware of this fact.
Zevran and Leliana are both bisexual and behave bisexual without input from the Warden. They aren't default heterosexual.
