Is there anyway to respec the npc's skills/talents in your party?

That'll teach you to play on a console when pc is clearly a better platform for a great many reasons.
Seriously, though, if you're on pc you can respec both yourself and companions with a mod. Or you can choose to get companions who aren't levelled up at all, so you can set them up how you want them from the start without respeccing them - also with a mod.

That's the respec mod. For others, check out the projects page here at the social site, and dragonagenexus.com has some good ones too.

I'm on PC. Niiice. Thanks again Susan! Can I apply this to a game already started? And will this effect every game I start? Never used mods before! P.S. PC is def. the the best platform..'tis sad that most games are geared toward poopy consoles nowadays.

Yes, it will apply to existing games. Not all mods do though - but they will or should tell you if there are limitations. And yes, the respec mod works for all new games too.
If you plan on using more than one mod, I can also heartily recommend the Mod Manager mod (this will let you both install and uninstall mods including the official DLC, which the DAUpdater will not let you do) and Advanced Tactics can be a lifesaver. There are others, but I'll leave you to discover them for yourself. Or if there are particular things you'd like to be able to do and don't know if there is a mod for - just ask.
