Hey.

So, Inquistion comes out in less than 24 hours, and I'm getting really excited.

I'm wondering if anyone else will be playing on Nightmare right from the start? From what I've seen on the previews and such, DAI seems much easier than DA2 (nightmare in DA2 could be, surprsingly, a nightmare with all the random immunities to damage). DAO nightmare was very easy if you just picked a few good spells (force field, mana clash).

My party in inquisition will be:

Human female Mage Inquisitor (going necromancy)

Solas

Blackwall

Varric

Pretty basic setup, I might change Solas to Vivienne, depending on whose personality is better.

No, I don't want my initial experience to be hindered by frustration, I want to enjoy the lore, the relationship between me and my party, etc. if it takes me forever to progress, i won't appreciate it as much

I'll be playing on Nightmare on first playthrough, but I'm turning friendly fire off.

Maybe Normal with friendly fire on. If it get's too easy, then I'll up the difficulty.

I played both DA:O and DA2 on nightmare with FF from the start. It will not be different with DAI.

I might run:

Elf Male Mage

Sera/Cole

Varric

Cassandra

Its hard to choose because most of the companions seems interesting.

So people don't find it as hard? Or are you basing it just on the prologue?

Yup, the companions are hard to choose from. Sera is the only one my inquistior will dislike, I think.

SInce I'm playing an evil inquisitor I'll try to pick a somewhat "evil" party, but there aren't that many choices for that, as far as I can see.

Blackwall stays no matter what though, Imma romance that beard

Party will be whatever it needs to be, though my ideal party would likely consist of:

My male human mage inquisitor

Iron Bull

Blackwall

Cole

Same here.

I'm not going for any particular party composition - I'll be changing my squad pretty frequently.

As for the Inquisitor, I'm going with male elven Necromancer.

Good point. Yes, I am basing it on the prologue.

I admit, maybe I should actually play the game before saying it seems easier than DA2, haha :D

Although, if there's no random immunities like in DA2, I think it'll be easier ;)

Sounds like we will be playing similarly... though I will not be romancing that beard :D

My goal for Inquisition is to start and finish at Nightmare, from the very first playthrough to the last. Friendly fire always on because I can't stand the sight of a fireball's blast reaching everyone in a room only to have some shrug it off because they happen to be friendly.  <_<

Fair enough. I personally enjoy the challenge, since I don't think saving the world should be easy by any means. :)

Is there an achievement for that? Hopefully it's better than the ones in DAO, where you could just turn the difficulty up at the last second of a boss fight to get the trophy (like the harvester in GoA).

Yeah.

You have to beat the whole game in Nightmare though. If you ever lower it down to hard you just get the hard trophy. Or if you lower it to normal/casual you just get the you beat the game trophy.

DA2 had lots of randomess, not only what Michael said but you didnt even knew when a fight would finish or who you would fight thanks to the wave system, that made it hard compared to DA:O where you could plan your fight way ahead. I do really dislike that way of making things harder, i do prefer balanced and intelligent enemies.

DAI seems to be going similar to DA:O in terms of battle design, even the AI seems to be lacking like in the first game. I hope im wrong, time will tell :P .
