The mounts appear from off-screen. You don't see them materialize.

Meaning it should be easy to maintain the suspension of disbelief because nothing strange is actually occurring on-screen; the player is given the opportunity to explain for themselves where the mount is coming from and how it got there. So of course the OP is not bothered by the mounts being summoned.

 

Party members phasing in and out of existence before your eyes, however, is much more difficult to rationalize in the mind of the player--therefore breaking the willing suspension of disbelief. In other words, it's a legitimate grievance.
