Does anyone know when the PS4 preload for DA:I might be going live? It's already the 16th and I've yet to see the preload go active as of yet.

The PS4 pre-load is only 5.27GB. Why? This happened with AC Unity as well and then when it came time to actually play it had to finish downloading 30+GB and had only 3 playable story missions. Why isn't the full game being pre-loaded?

Good question. I noticed it as well and this is the first time i've downloaded from ps4 so it beats me.

After the initial download, it downloads the rest in the background (your game is start ready with the initial few gigs). hover over the title in the main menu, press option button on the controller > information. Here you can see the full download.

Yes, and this is the problem. It continues to finish the download when you can start to play the game. The game should fully preload before I play it. On the PC, the full game is downloaded and installed (every single game I have ever pre-ordered on Steam or Origin). I'm not trying to wait six hours when I'm trying to play the game, when I have 24 hours before the game is out to get it ready.

How fast do you Download 

mine is at around 800mb 

 

well I started like 30mins late, might just be the servers are loaded now...

Anyone know what time preloading will unlock for people in the EU/UK/Australia?

 

It sounds like the US PSN has a feature that tells you which day preloading becomes available, but I'm seeing nothing like that on my Australian PS4.

It's not so much a feature but say it's listed under games > coming soon - the picture of DAI displayed will have 'pre load available yada yada'. If I click on it, it won't say anything, only the date it's playable.

If you are in the US and the game is not preloading try powering down the PS4 completely and turning back on. I've been online all day waiting for the download to pop up in my tray all and nothing until rebooted it.

Also, the download size is so small because that is the minimum amount of data required to begin playing the game. The rest of the 45 gigs downloads in the background while you play (or in most cases, while you wait for the game to unlock)

Yup just leave it! If you select options and select information, you'll notice that 5.27gb is an installer. It continues to download afterthat.

As others have said less directly, it doesn't wait until you go to play it per se (maybe AC Unity did - I didn't go digital with that) but rather continues to download in the background between now and launch. It just shows up once the launcher is downloaded, but you can see it running in the background.

Take it the preload option is for when you buy directly off the platform service. I.e Origin/PSN/Xbox network?

I bought mine through a retailer and it be nice to hear otherwise.

Yeah, the EU/Australia PSN store doesn't seem to have this though.
